ARIA 1 scale -all 4 batteries drain completely after 1 week

Is there no solution to Aria 1 battery issues draining rapidly even after cleaning contacts. Is my only option to spend more $$$ to purchase a new scale?  This is my 2nd Fitbit Aria scale purchased & used carefully.

I get the “Step On Step off” message all day long. So the batteries are gone in a day.
And I can’t sync it to my app. Based on the lack of resolve on these forums I am not inclined to pay for the Aria 2.  Is there another scale that will sync with Fitbit other than Aria?
