Admits to product being defective - Told too bad, so sad!! Here’s a free shirt

My Aria scale has been showing “Sensing/Step on” on a loop constantly without anyone touching it. I had to replace several sets of batteries. Finally called customer service. They said it was likely something wrong with the wiring that was causing it to think someone was on it or trying to get on it.

I asked how to fix it and was told they can’t fix it, it’s just no good anymore.

I was offered free overnight shipping and a t-shirt. To replace a $129+ scale.

Fitbit’s customer service used to be exceptional. I used to brag to my friends about how good it was. It’s really gone down the drain now and they don’t seem to care about their products at all. I’ve had to replace my Ionic 3 times already. These things used to be built to last and their customer service used to care about you getting a good product. Now you get a t-shirt. Yay!

Even after he admitted on the phone this was an issue with the scale itself, because it was “out of warranty” (one year on an electronic device??? Ridiculous) there was nothing they could do.

DO NOT BUY AN ARIA SCALE BECAUSE WHEN IT DIES (INEVITABLY AFTER THOSE “365” DAYS), YOU’LL BE UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE. And Fitbit will throw you a shirt.

Same! The batteries died in my aria and it stopped working after I changed them.  At least they offered you a t-shirt... they basically told me that my scale is worthless and sent me the link to buy the new aria 2.
