Aria 2 BMI reading have changed overnight from 28% to 40%

I have been using my Aria 2 scales for over a year. My BMI reading have been in the high 20% range. Overnight they are now reading in the 40% range.  What could cause this other then the scale malfunctioning?

Do you really mean BMI (body mass index), or are you talking about body fat %?  They are totally different measure, though sometimes confused.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

What ever the % figure presented on Aria 2 scale is what I am talking about.  Thanks for any help you can provide.
