Aria 2 Scale bricked? Guest w/Recent Weigh-ins empty

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My scale has started to fail to recognize me, so now I'm guest.  The Recent Weigh-ins page, in the app, for the scale is blank.  Therefore, the scale has become unusable with any of its connected features.

I see a lot of the same issue being reported with no fixes.

I am having the same exact issue.  Really annoying.

I actually have two scales and I've removed and added both of them with no fix.  Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.  Nothing.  All this because the product guys won't prioritize fixing a major bug for hundreds of people that renders their devices dumb.  This creates a lot of bad will towards Fitbit and perhaps Google.  I imagine, given how I feel.

Hi @arpad and @gharris9999 It's great to see you both in the Community! Allow me to help you manage these guest measurements you recently got from you Aria 2 scale.

If your scale reads GUEST when you weigh yourself, verify that your scale is linked to your Fitbit account and that your Fitbit profile information is correct.

Your scale may assign your weigh-in to a guest when your measurements are similar to another user and the scale is unsure how to assign the weigh-in. When this happens, the scale shows a (x,user,✓) like icon.

If the user icon shown is yours, tap the right side of the scale with your foot. If the user icon is not yours, tap the left side of the scale. If you do nothing, the weigh-in is assigned to a guest.

I hope these tips will be helpful for you. Have a nice day!

Alright.  So, my last comment about thinking about chucking both scales into the garbage and getting a Withings didn't show up, but I guess it was enough to jolt the ghost in the machine into action because my scale magically started to recognize me again.  Didn't do anything.

Also, the Recent Weigh-ins screen now shows my recent weigh in, just not Guest.  If I like, I can choose to switch my weigh in to Guest.  :-0

Still, no Guest weigh-ins show up, which IS THE FLAW here.  Like I said in my missing comment, a MAJOR part of the functionality of the "recents" screen is to re-assign Guest logs to a user.  Removing that functionality, or not fixing it if its a bug, is BRAIN DEAD.  I'm happy my scale works again (too afraid to try the second one) but still irritated that it worked (didn't work) this way.

DavidFitbit: the scale NO LONGER SHOWS a  (x,user,✓) like icon.  Yes MY PROFILE IS CORRECT.  My Aria 2 scale has been working perfectly for years. The fitbit app is showing that the scale is syncing, displays the firmware version and the battery level.  So NOTHING has changed here at this end.

What has changed at Google's end?  Firmware update?  Changes to the app?  Changes to the authentication method?

Yes, I've tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in to power-cycle the scale.

PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least one Aria users is trying to seriously debug this and seems to have gotten to the bottom of the issue.  See:

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Aria-Scales/Aria-not-syncing-anymore/m-p/5690687/highlight/true#M480...

So, it seems like this is going to take a firmware update to Aria scales on Google's part to enable syncing over https / port 443.  That, or a new app version that allows accepting a first party cookie from http / port 80.

Hopefully, Google will do something about this and we won't have a repeat of a debacle like we saw with the Fitbit Ionic smart watch, with Google having to shell out millions $$ and recall the product.
