Aria 2 completely inaccurate weight reading

I moved house, which means I packed up the Aria 2, removed the batteries from it and put it back in its original packaging and stored it flat.

A month later I unpacked it and put the batteries in. I then had to hold the button inside the battery compartment to reset it, so that I could connect it to my new Wi-Fi.

It now gives ridiculously inaccurate weight readings. Since I did my previous weigh in, I have put on weight. I used to have a full six pack and barely any abdominal fat, and I was about 67kg. Now I am about 70kg and I have some belly fat, but the first reading Aria gave me was 56kg and it said I was a guest.

I took the batteries out and put them back in, so that it would recalibrate, and this time it gave a reading of 51kg. That's absurd, it would make me so underweight that I'd be close to death. And that's without considering how did I lose 5kg in the space of 5 seconds.

What can I do to make it give proper readings again, or is it just broken? To be honest, its readings never seemed particularly accurate, they always varied wildly when done repeatedly and it fudged them based on who it thinks it was weighing.

It does say you should weight yourself a few times after you move the scale to recalibrate.  I wouldn't expect it to be off that much but really don't know.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
