Aria 2 display flashing off and on for no reason

I just got my Aria 2 today. Set it up with no problem. I just walked into that bathroom and the display lit up, but no text. It continued to flash on and off until I took a battery out and put it back in . 

What is going on? This will drain the batteries super fast.

Hi @nan02127, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Aria 2 turns on and off by itself randomly. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

Please remove all the batteries from the scale. After this, clean the contacts of your Aria 2 with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. After this, put a new set of batteries and make sure to place the scale on a flat surface. Finally, monitor your Aria 2 and see if the issue gets fixed.
