I recently completed an in-depth bio metrics analysis using a BodPod, the most accurate commercial analysis on the market, and learned I had 17% body fat. The Aria 2 tells me I have 29.5% body fat. I am a fitness instructor and muscular body type and believe the first number is more accurate. Is anyone else having this same issue? Or does my Aria 2 need to be returned?

I agree. My bodyfat ratio is usually 5% more on Fitbit Aria than on Tanita or using a caliper. It's quite unreliable

@JuanJoFitbit what are talking about? I'm talking about the bodyfat accuracy not about warranties. Please don't give us these pre-formatted answers that the corporate world thinks appropriate to deal with customers who are unhappy about their products. Thank you.

Fitbit has sold us a product they claim can give us useful, meaningful body fat data. I have explained them in great detail that the body fat data is inaccurate and therefore not useful for my purposes. I have asked to return my aria 2 for a refund. They have refused telling me essentially that the accuracy (or lack thereof) is acceptable to them. Instead of taking care of customers and really caring about fitness science, Fitbit has told me to live with it. My money is wasted and I’m stuck with a product I cannot use. Shame on Fitbit!
Never another Fitbit product for me. I’ll go with Garmin or Apple or something else. This company sucks! It’s not about the product it’s the culture. Terrible company.

I wish I can do same like you return the Aria2 .. I dont get response from the local distributor who sold me this useless piece, took the money through credit card and applied silence.
My case is worst .. I bought this awful thing from a local distributor who just sell then doesnt care about reputation and name .. they simply ignore your refund claim.
Terrible company indeed .. I wonder Fitbit are not watching our chat ?.. they really not care we have been cheated? very unusual attitude

well said @FaridSK. It is ok that Aria and Aria2 can still be improved. What is not OK is the lack of customer care. All we get is "we are sorry", "check our warranty policies" or "consider purchasing our new product"!
Clearly this range of products has serious issues in terms of accuracy and durability (mine broke after 14 months only) and we are asking Fitbit to consider replacing all defective products regardless of their warranty status because, ultimately, it is the reputation of this company that is at stake.
Thank you to pass the message to the top management.

Hey, yeah I am a personal trainer and I had my Caliper reading done last week which was 22% and my scale says 30% it is a bit alarming. I am quite muscular aswell. Hoping this is wrong. I do have a Jadelle in my arm so concerned that may be the cause?

@Catherinecoker Thank you for joining us in our Fitbit forums! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is not tracking your body fat percentage accurately. I'd like you to try some troubleshooting steps that are helpful for this type of issues. Please restart and re-calibrate your scale by taking out the batteries for 15 seconds and put them back in. Once this has been done, weigh yourself 5 consecutive times. In addition, make sure that your Aria 2 is placed on an even or flat surface and you are stepping on it barefoot.
Let me know if the issue gets fixed!

I don't want to sound harsh but that advice is useless. Did this numerous times and no difference in the results I was receiving. Fitbit need to sort out the issues with this product and stop regurgitating the same drivel to customers about recalibration, removing batteries, place on a flat surface. Pardon my language but that's just BS and also patronising to your customers.
Thankfully mine is now returned and I have received a full refund. I thought I was purchasing a quality product which was not the case. But even more disappointing is the support received through this Community Forum. If Fitbit took the time to read how many many people are having issues, the same issues and tried seriously to address rather that offer a solution that has failed for some many people, your feedback would be more positive.

@proteus007 Thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit forums! Since the body fat percent that tracks your Aria scale is not accurate, I'd like you to restart it and re-calibrate it by taking out the batteries for 15 seconds and put them back in. After this, weigh yourself 5 consecutive times and make sure that you are standing still on the scale, it's placed on an even surface.
Let me know if this fixes the issue!
