Aria 2 not providing body fat percentage

Hi all,

I just wanted to share my problem and how I was able to solve it. I did not see this solution on the forums so I thought it might help others.

Today my new Aria 2 arrived. Started it up. Connected to my WiFi did my first weigh in and then nothing. After my weight showed up on the display of the Aria the light dimmed on the display and a saw a long bar on it which then faded. No weight was synced to my account. Everything was setup correctly.

I have done the following steps but nothing helped:

1) Reconnect the Aria again (and again and again)

2) Replaced the batteries

3) Did a reset

4) Searched the forums

I was ready to send it back but on a hunch I stepped on the Aria again but this time with my shoes on. And presto. It worked. My weight was synced with my Fitbit account. So I tried again bare footed. Failed. Again. I thought the device was broken. So I looked for this exact same issue on the forums. Could not find it but I saw a post to the online manual. And there was a chapter to do a hard reset. Mmmmm last ditch resort.

Did a hard reset, the device started updating immediately (which it did not do when I pulled the tab from the battery department the first time). I hooked it up to my WiFi. Stepped on it bare footed. And presto. I got a fat percentage, BMI and everything was uploaded to my account.

TLDR: if all else fails: try a hard reset of your Aria 2. Hope this will safe others some frustration.

Edit: hard reset is a factory reset

It’s a factory reset. It’s on page 7 of the Aria 2 manual.
