Aria 2 stopped displaying body fat %

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
I cleaned the front of my Aria 2 with water on a soft sponge on September 23 before weighing myself.  Since doing so, it no longer displays or records my fat % - only '--%' is displayed on the Aria 2 and 'HIDDEN' on the website. Weight and BMI are displayed on the Aria 2.

The website indicates batteries at about 50% strength; I tried removing then putting back the batteries to restart the Aria 2 - but no change.  I've attached a screenshot of the recorded values since this started occurring; also of the Aria 2 battery level.

Another question:  why does BMI get displayed on the Aria 2 but not on the Log/Weight screen of the app?

Hi @richard_dc. Welcome! It's great to see a new face around.

Thanks for the steps that you've tried on your own, as well for sharing screenshots of what is displayed on your Fitbit account. Let's work on this together! Before anything else, please make sure of the following conditions that will help your scale to calculate your body fat percentage:

  • You are standing still on your scale with dry and bare feet.
  • The scale surface isn't wet or foggy. You can try wiping down the surface with a damp cloth.
  • The scale is also placed on a hard-flat surface and not on carpets.

If these conditions are met, try restarting the Aria 2 one more time by taking out the batteries for 20 seconds and insert them back. Then weigh 4 times consecutively to calibrate the scale. The scale should then recognized you and save your readings.

About your other inquiry, to see your BMI displayed in the Fitbit app, please do the following:

  • Tap on your weight tile.
  • On the graph, swipe to the left and the last screen will show your current BMI.
  • You can tap on the full screen icon to see your progress over the week, month and year.

I'll be around so keep me posted!

Lizzy,
Thanks for the response and advice. I've done as you recommend: all
batteries out for well over 20 seconds, replaced, four readings with dry
feet on a dry scale surface with the scales on a hard, level surface. It
still displays '--%' each time.
The laptop connection to www.fitbit.com/weight graphic of weight | lean vs
fat displays an unchanging value for fat% of 7.7% since 9/21/19.

I'm attaching various screen-shots to show what's going on.

I found BMI on the iPhone app - but my question remains, how do you display
it on the website?

Many thanks for your help,
Best
Richard

Hi @richard_dc. Thanks for getting back to me.

Although the screenshots weren't attached correctly, I appreciate your efforts as well for trying the steps posted above. I'm sorry they didn't work and because your Aria 2 isn't able to record your body fat percentage correctly, I've gone ahead and contacted our Support team so a case can be created on your behalf. They'll send you an email with more details, so keep an eye on your inbox.

About your other inquiry, to see the BMI on the website, please check the following steps:

  1. Go to your fitbit.com dashboard and log in to your account.
  2. Click on Log at the top of the screen. Then on Weight.
  3. Find the arrows below the graph and move the screen to the right.
  4. The second screen will show your BMI and your progress per week, month, year and from the date you created your account.
