Aria 2 vs Aria Air

So I have been looking into the Fitbit scales for a while now, I am now ready to purchase a  new scale and thought to give the aria 2 a try as I have been using the Fitbit app on a fairly constant rate now. But I have seen that the aria 2 is no discontinued and replaced by the aria air. My question is this, why the step backwards?? All the features that I was looking for which were on the aria 2 have been taken away.  Personally I could care less about BMI as it really is not a good measurement as when you have lots of muscle the BMI will say you are overweight when in reality you are in good shape you are just heavier due to your muscle mass.

did you remove the body fat percentage feature because of accuracy or to try and bring down the price? I am just curious for the set backwards and I will not be purchasing the aria air as it really is just a basic scale and not worth the money, I’ll just wait to see if Fitbit can come up with an actual smart scale for a proper price as there are many many many out there all for around the 100$ mark (most are under).

Just my own viewpoint, no inside Fitbit info:

1) I don't know why Aria 2 was discontinued.

2) I don't consider Aria Air a replacement for Aria 2, since they both were offered for quite a while.  I figured Aria Air was to have a lower-priced alternative, dropping body mass analysis, and switching wi-fi for bluetooth syncing.

3) The Aria Air is somewhat more than a basic scale in that results will sync to phone app via bluetooth rather than having to manually enter.  How much that is worth is an individual consideration.

4) I think there are other body-fat analysis scales out there than will sync with Fitbit, perhaps at lower price than Aria 2 was.

5) I have no idea if or when Fitbit might come out with other scale, or even drop Aria Air.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks for your response I will keep my eye out for a Fitbit compatible scale as at this time Fitbit does not have a scale suitable to my needs.

who knows they may release something to combat the negative reviews I have read on this forum (or not) I am one of those people that like to keep continuity with my devices for both style and functionality.
