Aria 2 will not connect to WiFi

Hello!

I just received an Aria 2 and it will not connect to my wifi. I live in a college dorm so my wifi is a little different than it would be at home. There is a secure and not-so-secure wifi. Of which, my Aria will not connect to either. I will note that the secure wifi requires both a username and passcode to connect to it and Fitbit doesn't give me the option to provide a username so I haven't totally tried it yet. The aria will connect to the network that doesn't require a password. But it then syncs, and shortly after I get a sad face that says it can't connect. Is there another way to get this connected or am I just out of luck?

@jmditt523 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear about the setup issues that your Aria 2 is experiencing. I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved.

As an aside note, public networks may affect the connection with an Aria scale since many people connect to the same network. Besides, the Aria requires a router that runs the protocol 802.11b, bandwidth 2.4GHz and a password with less 32 characters.

Looking forward to your response! Smiley Happy

I have actually purchased a personal hotspot for the scale as a last resort. I know the hotspot is running a bandwidth of 2.4GHz but I am unsure what it's "protocol" is. The university "provides a state-of-the-art 802.11a/g/n/ac wireless network". With this hotspot I am able to set my own passcode (under 32 characters) and I am the only one using it. Even with this new hotspot (that I purchased just for my Aria) I am getting a check mark and then "Can't connect" across the screen.

It's nice to see you here @jmditt523 and @BobbiC1. I apologize for the delayed response and will be glad to assist you.

@jmditt523, thank you for letting us know that you got a personal hotspot that has the requirements. After getting the check mark and not being able to connect, do you get a specific error message?

@BobbiC1,  when you get error 1 messages. you have step off your scale after completing a weigh-in or when the scale shows the footprint icon moving backward, indicating it's time to step off the scale.

I'll be waiting for your response.

Hi, thanks for writing. I had an Error 1 and footprints but today it
weighed me. I don’t know what I did. I’m still wondering how to get BMI
etc. but since I get that on my watch I’m not going to push it. Thank you.
