Aria 2 won't connect to WiFi network

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I can't get my aria2 to connect to a network. I've moved house and have a plusnet one router. I've tried turning off 5GHz. I get to the finding networks screen, get a 'there's a problem try again later' flash up and that's it. I deleted the aria2 and re added,  it synced briefly but now back to no WiFi on the scale.

Is your new router compatible?

Networking Requirements
Aria 2 connects directly to your home’s Wi-Fi network and supports the following
network configurations:
• Wireless 802.11b/g/n, 2.4 GHz standard
• WEP / WPA / WPA2 personal security
• Automatic (DHCP) IP setup (static IP configuration not supported)
Aria 2 requires an 802.11b/g/n-compatible network to connect and sync your scale
data to your Fitbit account.

Thanks for replying. I believe my router supports all of these requirements. I can't see why it won't see the network. Any network at all! It didn't even show my neighbours.

Anyone got the same issues?

Yes.  I got a new router, WPA has same name Wi-Fi is open and unlocked.  aria says it’s connected at startup but after weighing Wi-Fi icon shows an x above it

I haven't had an answer to why this problem is occurring.  It's just an expensive manual scale at the moment!  Cheers for letting me know I'm not alone though.

I had the same issue this morning, and I've managed to figure it out. I had previously blocked the MAC address of the scales from my router, as I didn't know what that MAC was.

I've since unblocked it and its now connecting, so it might be worth double checking your wifi settings at the router.

Sorry what did you say. Are you saying you've switched routers? What router do you have now? And what do you mean by bell networks?

I have all these requirements and it still is giving me an "Wifi ERR" whilest going through the setup configuration.

I have run into this problem since we switched internet providers.

We moved 4 hrs away so we had to switch providers (Rogers internet), when i go to reconnect it, the scale only detect networs from Bell.

Valerie P88,

Sorry to step in here but your internet provider has no relation to connecting to the Aria scale.  The scale is only trying to connect to your personal router, which then communicates with your provider.

1. When you moved did you take and set up your original wifi router in your new home Y/N?

2. The 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz standard is pretty much ubiquitous on any wifi router so even if it is 5GHz capable it should also be capable of transmitting on 2.4GHz - however, it might be that the 2.4GHz transmitter is turned off, for example that is possible on many Asus dual band routers.

The only possible problem I can see is if you are in an apartment on shared wifi that you cannot control.  Otherwise, it is time to get out your manual for your wifi router and do some reading on how to set it up.

Thanks for the reply,

When moved the a new house, we had to get a new router ( they're provided by our service providers) so it is a different one. We have Ignite WiFi Gateway Arris XB6 Modemfrom Rogers.

It has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz capable. I've checked ans both are turned on.

Most of our neighbors use rogers as well and I cant even detect their networks with the scale either.

Thanks for the reply.  I haven't blocked any mac addresses.  I'll take another look anyway.

That's the same issue I have.  Same provider but different router.  The scale didn't even see the neighbours Internet let alone mine.

Rogers might be blocking the scale somehow. Anyone know how to check

For what its worth my Aria 2 connects to my Asus RT-AC68U router no problem.

I assume you are doing the Wifi Setup procedure through the phone app?

Remove Aria by going to devices and removing all users.
Go to fitbit.com/setup/aria
Follow instructions to add device
If it doesn’t work try again and really follow the instructions. LOL

Make sure you are picking a Wi-Fi that is not 5G

My scale will no longer find any network. Seems to be the going consensus here.

I installed a new router with 3 wireless access points and made separate networks for 2.4 and 5ghz bands. Now when trying to reconnect my scale it doesn’t show my network in the list, even though I am literally right next to one of the access points.
I don’t have ant MAC blocking set up so there’s no reason it shouldn’t see it… it sometimes shows my neighbors SSID but never mine.
I tried manually entering the SSID and password and that doesn’t work either… but I did notice that the display changes from “SETUP ACTIVE’” to “NETWORKS DETECTED”.

Somewhat different results on iOS compared to Android, but in the end still not connected 😞
