Fitbit Aria 2 does not connect to mobile devices (iOS or Android).

I turn on the Aria 2 and the setup screen is visible. I try to add the device in the Fitbit app on the mobile device, and it finds the Aria 2 as discoverable. Then it asks me to insert the numbers into the app, that are visible on the scale. The numbers are visible, so i write them into the app.

Error text on iOS:

  • Something went wrong. There was an error while trying to pair your device.

After that, the phone says that there has been an error connecting to the scale. The same issue is present on iOS or Android device.

  • Fitbit Aria 2 model No: FB202
  • Devices: Apple iPhone 11, Asus Zenfone 6 (Android 11)
  • App: latest available on Apple app store or Google Play store.

I have so far:

  • reset the scale - remove the battery, hold reset button while inserting the battery, after 10s release the button, device resets.
  • reinstalled the fitbit app
  • restarted the mobile device
  • signed out and then signed in again into the app
  • installed the latest version of the Fitbit app
  • checked that the batteries inside the fitbit Aria 2 are full, measured with the voltage meter

Nothing works so far. I've seen on the internet that a lot of users are complaining about various connectivity issues for Fitbit devices. Is the device malfunctioning/broken? How can i connect to the scale, when the previous attempts of resolving the issue didn't work?
