Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.
I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.
I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.
It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.
Can anyone advise, please?

Hi there,
How do you add a weigh in? Same prob

I've been having this issue with my aria 2 (always thinks I'm guest, doesn't show guest readings to reassign, despite syncing normally), and after much trial and error today I finally got it working!
Sorry to add another elaborate "here's how I got it working" post as I know from personal experience how frustrating it is when these magic conjurations still fail. But for what it's worth, here it is:
The app seems to need a string of at least five weigh-ins assigned to you before it believes your weight has really changed. Here's how I did that:
1.) I weighed myself on the scale. Let's say the reading was 205.5 lbs. (Assigned to GUEST as has become annoyingly routine)
2.) I went into my user settings in the app and set my weight to 205.5 lbs. (This step may or may not have been necessary)
3.) In the app, I manually entered a weight reading of 205.5 lbs for myself. (I set the body fat percentage to blank -- not sure if this was necessary or not). I set the date to today.
4.) I repeated that last step four more times (ugh, yeah), using the app to manually enter weights of 205.5 lbs, blank fat percentage, and earlier days in the same week (not sure if they have to be differing dates or not; this is just how I did it).
5.) I then stepped on the scale, it registered 205.5 lbs, and ... drumroll ... It assigned me as GUEST again! Don't worry -- the issue is just that the scale hasn't synced to the app yet to know how emphatic I am that my weight has changed.
6.) After e scale synced that disheartening new GUEST measurement (and apparently getting the news that my weight really has changed to 205.5 lbs), the next time I stepped on the scale I finally saw my fat percentage and happy apple icon!
Finally everything seems to be working normally.
Sorry that this "scale whisperer" technique is so involved, but if you, like me, have been unable to register weights for months, it's worth it. I hope this works for others.

Same issue.
Dear Google:
I paid not just for a hardware but for the software as well.
1. When will you fix this?
2. What will you do to prevent such issues in the future?
3. Is it acceptable to leave thousands of devices inoperable?
4. How will you compensate all of us?

Don't hold your breath for an answer to any of your questions. They have all been asked before to no avail. I've been waiting since May 15, 2023.
UPDATE: Aug 24, 2023 - I had to open a second case number because Fitbit closed my first one because Juan Fitbit marked the thread as "answwered". I just learned they closed my SECOND case # 50313485 because "it's been a while since we heard from you". It was less than 2 weeks! And they ask us for our patience. I am getting pretty fed up with Google/Fitbit.

Can you update us? I'm unable to log any weigh ins as my scale only recognizes me as a guest.

The solution suggested by @robbobbo worked for me!
In the app I deleted my wife's recent weigh-ins which had wrongly been assigned to me.
I then entered 5 manual weigh-ins, on random dates in the past week - using the correct weight as seen by the Aria.
After two new weigh-ins, the Aria recognized me again.
Best regards
Martin

@JuanFitbit , I am facing the same issue. Is there any Estimation for a fix? I tried the workaround solution proposed on this thread(add multiple weights on prior days with no fat %) but it did not work for me.

I'm also having this problem, with an original Aria 1. The scale recognizes my wife fine but always recognizes me as a guest. Searching through the forums, the suggested fix is always to re-assign the guest weighings to yourself through the website or app, but the website doesn't show any weigh-ins anymore and when I go into recent weigh-ins in the app, none are shown, so there is nothing to re-assign.
I tried to contact support directly for this issue, but attempting to use Live Chat simply re-directs me to an error page ("Sorry, that page is following a different trail."). Not only is the app broken, but the support website is too!
The fact that so much of Fitbit's website and app seems to be breaking daily does not give me confidence in Fitbit and Google. My current tracker and scale are going to be my last Fitbit devices and I'll be moving somewhere else once they die (which it seems like the Aria already has, simply because of buggy software).
Fitbit is turning into a frustrating joke of a brand.
EDIT: Also, I've tried the workarounds proposed in this thread (both the "sock trick" and the workaround proposed by @robbobbo), and I haven't been able to get them to work for me. I think I'll continue adding my weight into the app manually every day in the hope that eventually the scale will recognize me, but it doesn't seem to have worked so far. Has anyone with the original Aria (the Aria "1", not the Aria 2) been able to get the workaround to work?

@Martinhdk, do you have the original Aria (the Aria "1"), or the Aria 2? I'm curious to know because I have the original Aria (not the Aria 2), but I haven't been able to get this workaround to work for me.

@ErikSwan not the person you mentioned, but I have the Aria 1. Gen and nothing works for me either.

Any fix yet? Kinda sucks when you can't use your scale because it doesn't pick you up and it's not logging guests!

Just wondering if any community member who has switched his/her Fitbit account to Google is still experiencing either the (1) “Fitbit assigns my weight to Guest,” or (2) “can’t reassign Guest weight” problems. I haven’t switched over so not sure if that helps these problems, which we’ve been encountering since late May.
