Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.
I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.
I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.
It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.
Can anyone advise, please?

Update #?? (I've lost track of what number update this is)
Posted my query back in May. Six months later and still NO MEANINGFUL UPDATE from Fitbit.

the tolerances determining if a weight is a guest should be more lenient, or at least have an option that lets you set it as "tight, lax, or 1-user".
I had covid and slept for 24 hours. Lost 10 pounds in 1 day. Kept the liquid diet/rest going and lost 17 lbs in a couple days. Scale, confused more than ever.
And I've had days where Ive gained 10+ lbs of water weight after visiting parties and drinking pitchers of drink.

When you reassign an existing one to guest, it vanishes, so it's just a filter. The data is there. This should be an easy fix.

As a bit of a curiosity: Does anyone know how the Aria Air handles guest weights? Can you re-assign an unrecognized weigh-in from "Guest" to the correct user, or are those weigh-ins lost as well?
And if those weigh-ins are lost: Is that a feature that's currently broken (like with the Aria 2), or did the Air never support that future in the first place?

Still not fixed. Bought a Samsung watch 5 because of this. Bye Fitbit! Will also sell my scale and get a new one.

I just fell down this rabbit hole. My Aria 2 hasn't recorded my weigh-ins as me since early December and I finally decided to look for a fix. I can't believe this is widespread and hasn't been fixed!

I got pregnant last year, and the fitbit Aria (original) scale followed my weight progress. Gave birth, and now I'm a guest, with no way to reassign the weights to myself?? Meanwhile, my entire pregnancy, the app was assigning my cleaning lady to my profile even though she was 30 lbs lighter than my starting weight (??). This is sorta ridiculous.

I know this isn't funny, but your post just brightened my day. Thanks for the smile. Yes. it is totally ridiculous that since last May, and an entire baby ago, this has been an issue getting absolutely no attention from Google, who just want us all to buy their other stuff.

Is it time to accept that this thread is now just about workarounds to get the scales to register weights as yourself instead of guest/someone else? This issue of guest weights beinmg inaccessible seems to have escaped Google's attention, and seeing as it's limited to owners of obsolete wifi scales, it's likely to stay that way. The moderators here seem to have no way to communicate with the people who could fix it.

Obsolete wifi scales? I'd be interested in learning about better/other ones,

I’m having the same problem!!! I wish I would have known Google bought it and I wouldn’t have bought the premium version. Why do acquiring companies mess up a good thing!!!! I used to love Fitbit, had it for years and now it’s just awful. No longer a happy customer. What’s the use of buying a smart scale if it’s not smart!!!

It is against the community guidelines for me to include any names of any third party product or to advertise them in this forum, so I will not do so. The community guidelines state I must remain on topic, so I'll just include my review of the Aria 2 scale and Versa 2 and how I fixed the problems that i've had with them. My fitbit watch got a pixelated screen, and the part to replace it was too expensive, and my scale stopped syncing my weight to my account. I tried reporting the bug, and i'm still waiting on a response with a fix or update. In the meantime, i found a workaround solution, because my confidence in gogle's ability or desire to service its products has declined, i replaced the broken products with different ones that use a different app, and the app is SO MUCH BETTER. I'm going to get another scale too. They don't make smart phones, but they made alot of the devices that became popular in cars after the era of printing out map directions. I asked my buddy Tom and he said it wasn't his idea, and also wasn't his uncle Tom either.

Sorry DanCoco, all these word, but for what?
Just include the brand or don't post period. Everybody receives email notifications regardless here, so they'll still see your post, even if the KGB decides to delete it. The mods don't care about the community guidelines either and will come up with new rules that aren't stated anywhere either.

Ask for a refund if you have bought it via Apple AppStore or Android Play Store.
The link for refunds via apple is reportaproblem.apple.com.
I dont know the process for Android, but there should be a similar solution.
If you purchased premium via the fitbit website, you could open a dispute via your bank.
Since the products arent working and there is no proper fix in sight...

I’ve been having the same issue. The option to view recent weigh ins still exists on the phone app, but it only shows your weigh ins. No guests. On my wife nor my account and we are both synced to this scale.
I think when Google acquired FitBit, they removed this feature. They have changed alot and removed alot (including the friendly challenges).
My wife and I actually ended up switching to Garmin but as this still works as a scale, and I’m too cheap to buy a new one yet, I would love for this to start working again…especially now that I am not wearing a Fitbit tracker, it calls me a guest more often than not…

My scale now recognizes me with socks on, but still logs me as a guest when I'm barefoot. The guest weights don't show up under Recent Weigh-ins and the guest record doesn't show % body fat. I don't get the option to tap on an icon, either.

I found a fix that worked for me. My scale is working correctly again. 1. I changed my icon, goal weight and goal fat% in the app on my phone. 2. I put fresh batteries in the scale. 3. While holding my phone, I weighed myself 5 consecutive times wearing socks. The scale correctly identified my icon. 4. I confirmed the weights were appearing in the app under Recent Weigh-ins. 5. I removed my socks and weighed myself. The head with the question mark appeared with my icon and I tapped my foot on the right side of the scale. 6. I continued to weigh myself 4 more times and the scale correctly identified me, my weight and body fat %, as well as BMI. 7. I confirmed the weights were appearing under Recent Weigh-Ins in the app. Glad that my scale is working again! I still think the Guest weights don't show up, though. It seems this feature is gone. Also, I don't know yet if my husband's weights will show up. I think he still gets recorded as a GUEST. He only steps on the scale to weigh our dog!
