Yesterday, my scales didn’t recognize me and said guest during the weigh in. In went into the app - recent weigh ins, and changed it to me. Today, the scales didn’t recognize me again. I went into recent weigh ins, but this time, there was no guest weight registered. So, I tried three more times and got nothing.
I then came to the Community to search for help. So far, I’ve tried removing the batteries and stepping on the scales 5 times (6 times, just in case) to recalibrate. Nothing. Tried that again. Nothing.
I’ve removed the scales from my app and readded them (twice); logged out of the app and back in (6 times); done a hard reset of my device (3 times), and then tried adding the scales again (twice). Tried removing the batteries again, and then stepping on 5 times again. I then got on to my Fitbit account via the web browser, hit the settings cog, gone into my Aria 2 to look for recent weigh ins and possibly change it to me there. However, I can’t find any data about weigh ins on the website.
It’s been 2.5 hours now, and I’m ready to throw the scales out the window.
Can anyone advise, please?

Beginning in mid-May, my fitbit app stopped showing the weights of all our household users. It is critical for me to be able to view and manage my husband's weight because of his illness. Please advise if this is a "feature" or a "bug". thank you.

Sorry but this isn't really an answer. It's just a holding statement...

Yes - I've encountered this starting at the end of last week.
The Dashboard on my phone app and on my desktop PC would show recent weigh-ins by all users of our Aria 2 Scales - the identified regular users and "Guests". "Guest" would appear if the scales didn't recognise my wife or myself and we didn't select the user icon on the scales. From the dashboard we could reassign weigh-ins as appropriate.
Now when viewing our dashboards on our apps/PCs, I only see my weigh-ins, and my wife only sees hers. No Guest weigh-ins are shown.
Effectively this means if the weigh-in hasn't been allocatecorrectly at the etime of weighing, they are4n't available to be seen. So at the moment, although I weighed myself each day my bweigh-ins for Sunday and Tuesday don't appear in the dashboard presumably because they've been identified as "Guests"?
This needs resolution.

I have an open ticket with support about this. I will let you know if they give me a decent response. So far just a bunch of "try this" steps that I already know don't work. Clearly the code has been changed and they took away something they thought wasn't needed but it IS!

Thanks for the response!
As you say it looks like something has been changed that has altered the way the dashboard function operates. I note the Android app on my phone was most recently updated on 24th May, so I suspect the fault was introduced then and it's become more noticeable now that I realised that I was missing some weigh0ins and not seeing multiple users on the list of recent weigh-ins.
So disappointing when a company doesn't test its software thorughgly.

They've responded with "it's a known issue and is being worked on".
I found this thread that has a Fitbit moderator monitoring the situation. Might be a better place for updates: Solved: Aria 2 won’t register guest weight - Page 4 - Fitbit Community
Even though it says Solved, it isn't - the mod just wanted his post to come to the top.

Yes, thank you. I started this new thread because the moderator combined the multi-user weight problem with the guest weight problem, but they are not the same. I need to see my husband's weight, not my guests' weights. I do agree that they were probably caused by the same "enhancement", though.

My guest weigh-ins also vanished on both the app and the website dashboard around a month ago.
This is a huge problem as my scale never recognizes me despite trying all of the things posted here. It logs my weight as guest, which I was at least able to access through the 'recent weigh-inns', but now every time I weigh myself, the information disappears and is not saved on the app or web.
Fitbit please fix this or you will be named and shamed - clearly all of us are having the same problem and it is rendering this expensive scale useless.

I can see the recent weigh-ins assigned to me in the app, but not the ones assigned to "Guest", which are the ones I need to re-assign.

Hi Hshdhhhhh,
This affects me too, and some others!
It seems we can not receive any advice here...
Did you get any help other-place?
OK ... but I still have this issue and today is June15, 2023 ... So?

Hi JuanFitbit - Fitbit Moderator,
I'm wondering if you have any update? Any solution?
I still have this issue...
Thank you.
If Fitbit has added a filter to show only one’s own weights in the app for privacy.
Well, this didn't seem to be a good idea!
Now I cannot see the recorded data because I was not recognized correctly and guest's data are not available... I can not reassign any wrong or guest weight anymore...
Hi JuanFitbit,
Is the info copy-pasted below true? Is Fitbit-Aria discontinued? Will your company continue to address issues and provide support for this product?
If yes, for how long?

Fitbit Aria scale: A legacy left in limbo
May 29, 2023 Ivan Jovin Health tracker, Smart scale 3 min read
Recent developments have put owners of the original Fitbit Aria scale in a bind. The company has pulled support for the device, and users who remove it from their accounts find themselves unable to add it back. This has sparked discussions on social platforms, with users seeking workarounds.
The Fitbit Aria was one of the first smart scales to hit the market. Launched in April 2012, it was a pioneering product that could recognise users and measure weight, body mass index (BMI), and percentage of body fat. The Fitbit app automatically synced the data via Wi-Fi, giving users a comprehensive view of their health metrics.
The Aria 2 succeeded the Aria scale in 2017, boasting improved accuracy and a simpler Bluetooth setup. The budget-friendly Fitbit Aria Air followed in 2019. Despite these newer models, some users have held on to their original Aria scales for a decade or more.
The original Aria scale is no longer supported
On the one hand, this is a testament to the longevity of this Fitbit product. On the other hand, the discontinuation of support for the Aria scale has left these loyal users in a bind.
A few of them have recently discovered that there is currently no way to add the scale back to their Fitbit account if it has been removed. If you try to do so you will get the message that Fitbit has discontinued software support for the Aria and that you should get a new smart scale.
Unsurprisingly, this has caused frustration among some users. And they have taken to online forums to voice their concerns and seek solutions. A workaround that has been suggested is installing a third party app that can sync the ageing scale to your Fitbit account. But this solution is not ideal.
Importance of maintaining support for older devices
The decision by Fitbit to discontinue support for the Aria scale raises broader concerns about the lifecycle of smart devices and the implications for users. Devices frequently become obsolete as technology advances at a rapid pace. That’s part of the game.
However, when users are unable to use a device on which they have grown accustomed, it can cause significant disruption. Particularly, if there is nothing technically wrong with it.

The Aria scale situation serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining support for older devices. In the fast-paced world of fitness technology, 10 years is a long time. However, given that the Fitbit Aria was superseded by its second-generation counterpart only about five years ago, some users may have acquired the device more recently.
While it is understandable for businesses to prioritise newer products, they also have a responsibility to their long-term customers. The challenge is to strike a balance between innovation and continuity while meeting the needs of all users.
The discontinuation of support has been a setback for some users of the original Aria scale. Fitbit has made a number of dubious decisions in recent months, no doubt influenced by its new owner Google. The search giant seems to be laser-focused on developing its Pixel watch line. This shift in focus has left some users feeling sidelined, questioning the future of their beloved devices.

My aria has always worked great but the last week it is showing me as a guest, not registering bf and no weigh ins are showing up in the app. I have taken batteries out numerous times and reconnected with wifi. It says it syncs correctly but nothing is showing up in app.

Noted this morning that there's a new version of the Android app for my phone. Installed, but still unable to view weigh-ins from multiple users...
Also noted that in the User account section there's now an option to move your Fitbit account to a Google account... just wondering if that's part of the issue?

Is there an expected time frame to have resolution? This should be a simple solve, from the date it was confirmed what the issue is, more than 15 days ago already it is really unacceptable that no resolution was provided yet! I can tell I've started buying and using fitbit since 2015 more less, and since Google acquired it, the preoccupation to customer needs dropped like 300%! Please get your stuff together and push an urgent update to rollback last one that caused the issue, or to properly solve it. Customers should be your number one concern, and reading answers here for more than 15 days, it doesn't look like they are!

Wow! Thank you for this info. I explored it a little from my phone app, but not ready to jump just yet. It seems we will still have access to Fitbit.com until 2025, when Google plans to have us all moved over to Google. Exactly when in 2025 is unclear. Also unclear is whether or not we can come back to Fitbit if we move to Google to give it a try in the meantime.

This is all BS. They take away Deezer with ability to leave phone at home for music, now my aria 2 scale shows me as guest, but does not show the weights in the app or dashboard. So I can't even assign my icon to them. Recent weigh ins are blank. Set up scale 3 different times, Wifi works, but no measurements on app or dashboard. Very disappointed with Fitbit and Google effing up a good thing. My next smart watch will probably be samsung and trash the scale, no use now.

Came here to find a solution because I have the same problem. My Aria 2 has worked great for 4 years but suddenly stopped reporting anybody’s weight but mine. It says it sees the other users, allows them to pick their icon, gives the check, and then the weights just never show up. I spent hours doing all the troubleshooting. Nothing helped.
I can weigh, the other users weigh, and then a guest, and then me again. The only weights that show up in the list are both of mine.
This bug showed up for me at the same time as everybody else but I finally decided to try and fix it only to find Fitbit support had been working on this for a month?
Any updates would be greatly appreciated!
