Aria Air not syncing weights for main user and 2nd user

Had the sense for 12 days now and really enjoying it. The wife as the luxe and she also loves it and between our family of 4 it's generated a lot of competition. 

 

Anyway. Yesterday my Aria Air Scales arrived and I set them up pretty quickly on the Fitbit app and weighed myself s few time as you do with a new toy, I invited the wife to use the scales. She accepted and after some messing about turning scales on, off, battery pulls etc we got both our weights in.

Sorry, pressed wrong button lol. 

 

Today I have spent 4 hours trying to get them to usher or side on again but to no avail, it seems you have to manually stay the scales by pressing the weight selection button underneath to get it to do anything, not just stand on it like normal scales. I've been in contact with the supplier and they state that's the way they are, so I have to pay to return them and lose the money. Before I send them back is there any tricks to get these to work remotely with 2 users?
