Aria Air scale no longer syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was using the Aria Air just fine until the latest version of the Fitbit app. Now the scale won't sync at all. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, resetting the scale, restarting my phone, etc, but nothing seems to work.

I noticed that the Bluetooth icon no longer lights up when I step on the scale, and when I check my phone's Bluetooth settings, the scale no longer shows up as a connected device. When I tap "Pair new device" I see the Aria Air, but trying to connect to it gives me a "Pairing rejected" error message.

I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL, and I'm aware there are several other issues that have shown up with Pixels and the 4.30 version update. I just keep finding more problems, and the older issues didn't seem to get addressed.

Very similar issue here. Just received my Aria Air yesterday. Took about 1.5 hours to get it recognised in the Fitbit Premium App after uninstalling, reinstalling, resetting scales, rebooting phone again....pairing rejected errors, and trying again until finally, by accident, it seemed to work! That was 8 hours ago. I tried to use it again now, says looking....standing on the scales, no option to save but just goes back to "Synced 8 hours ago". I am using a Google Pixel 8 Pro. It looks like I would have to go through that hour+ long procedure again every time I want to use the scales. Surely there is something wrong here? There goes not seem to be any relevant help with the fitbit aria air help online.

Mine suddenly stopped synching about 5 days ago for no reason. I think all I had done was a software update on my phone. I tried taking the batteries out as suggested on the help page but it makes no difference.  The Bluetooth icon shows.  I have a Charge2

Can no-one help?

Samsung S23+, There have always been Bluetooth issues with the scale (close app, force stop, and then reopen would usually allow the scale to sync with the app).  However, it appears that while my phone can see the scale (looking under connections "available devices") and the scale shows the Bluetooth symbol, there is no syncing action occurring or possible when activating a "syncing your data" with a down swipe of the home page (which didn't necessarily sync it before, either).  But, in the past I could see the sync indication and what the scale said and there was a "save" button active when it did it on the log weight scale.  Now it only works for manual input.

Looks like you forgot some code while reprogramming your app pages.

Received a fix from Fitbit and it worked:

  • Delete the app from your phone
  • Turn your Bluetooth off
  • Restart your mobile phone
  • Restart your scale:
    • On the back of the scale, touch and hold the button for 5 seconds. The display will flash oTA.
    • Touch and hold the button for another 5 seconds until the display shows clr.
  • Turn Bluetooth on
  • Install the app back on your phone
  • Add the device by going to:
    •  add more device > Scales > Aria air
  • Test device!

A couple of items to note.  I followed this in exactly this order.  On reloading the app, it asked for various permissions to be set (again) which I did (including the relinking of my Charge 6).

My Aria Air scale from the account prior to deleting the app showed up in the devices list.  I selected the Add More Devices > Scales > Aria Air.

The app asked if I wanted to replace the previous device (yes).  The first time the app tried to find the scale it didn't.  Turned off Bluetooth (per the app) and turned it back on, making sure the scale was awake.  The app found the scale and stepping on the scale and going to the Log Weight screen, the value from the scale was filled in.  Hit "Save" and it is logged.

One issue remains (but it was true prior to this incident).  Bluetooth implementation (somewhere) is not optimal in that I find that the value on the scale, if the scale is asleep does not log AND the Bluetooth symbol does not light up on the scale.  Turning Bluetooth off and then back on (on the phone) seems to get the scale data into the app.

Good luck.
