Hi folks,
Just received and used my aria air for the first couple of times. In the app I use Stones and Lbs for weight measurement, the aria air I have set to the same.
The problem is when I weigh myself the aria air changes the units on the fitbit app to pounds! I then manually have to keep changing the app settings back to st/lbs every time I use the scales.
It also after syncing the weight from the scales after every use I get a pop up asking me to setup my aria air scales! They are setup, if this continues I'll be sending it back.
Anyone have a solution?

Not sure if this will notify everyone who's posted, but I think the issue is fixed. At least it is for me on both my tablet and my phone. I had taken to using my tablet to log my weight, because it didn't have this issue like my phone did, but a couple of weeks ago it started to happen on that too.
But then I realised by accident, that if you click on the unit description before you save the entry (so if it keeps defaulting to lbs, you click lbs), you can change it to the unit of your choice. That way you don't have to go all the way in to the settings to change it back. Still not ideal, obviously, because it should stick to the settings you set up, but definitely a lot better.
Hope this helps some of you 😊

I'm having the same issue using Android, poor to see the lack of solution given the length of time this issue has been going on. There seems to be a lack of development/correcting with the app has this is now the second 'bug' that I am finding. Its a shame that the app lags behind the wearable products

Aug. 2021 and another person here still having this issue. Unbelievable that this thread's going on two years with no support from FitBit. I see several people have lodged complaints with support and still no resolution, so it doesn't do me any good to waste my time doing the same. I'll just sell the scales. It's more frustration than it's worth. Expensive junk - and that doesn't make me feel good about buying another FitBit when it comes time to replace my Ionic.
Just for the record, my issue is the app changing the weight from Kgs to Lbs when weighing in. The Aria Air correctly displays Kgs, so it definitely seems like an app bug to me. I run Android on a Samsung S9+.
*When I wrote the Android part there, I just realized that I hadn't tried with my brand new phone (Samsung S21+). I set up the app and tried and... it worked. 3 times in a row. I cross-checked OS info and found the S9+ is using Android v10 (One UI 2.1) and the S21+ is using Android 11 (One UI 3.1). I'm a bit cautious about saying the bug might be an Android 10 issue, so I'll keep an eye out and see if the Android 11 phone eventually starts with the same issue. I've had plenty of other issues with FitBit, so they're on a pretty short rope with me. The lack of customer support on this particular issue, even if I just now figured out the problem for myself, is unacceptable. If this is, indeed, an Android 10 issue, the support engineers couldn't see that it was a possible issue just by looking at their support tickets? The poster above that moved to Apple and had no issue was a big hint there as well.

In the end, I found this to be more of a UX issue than a software bug. For me when an incoming log was received, I tried tapping the Lbs (that does not look like a select list or button), but to my surprise it gave me 3 options. Since selecting Kgs that day it always then suggested Kgs. Please try this if you are having an issue still and let me know if it worked for you.

Wow! I never realized one could just tap on the Lbs and change it from there. I was hunting over the internet on how to find where to change all that in the settings (which is very unintuitive and a major PITA to do every single time, even when one knows where to go). That's huge! Thank you for that tidbit.
I was going to try it this morning, but the Aria and my phone decided not to play nice and weren't talking this morning (this happens on occasion - one more reason I'm not impressed w/ the Aria) and had to manually enter the figures. Maybe tomorrow.
But thank you! Excellent advice and great to know!

Thank you GF3, you've fixed it for me!
I've tried 10 times over the past two days after doing what you've said and it's been working perfectly since.

THANK YOU for finding this and letting us know! I really wonder why nobody at Fitbit was able to explain this strange "feature" of their Android app UI after stringing unhappy customers along since 2019.

Thanks for this! However, my incoming log received page still changes to Lbs. Has happened 3 out of 4 times since trying this. This just gives me an easier way to change it back to Kg, which I am grateful for, but I still consider this an ignored and unfixed bug after two years.

I just got an Aria Air, and now that I have finally got it syncing, I am getting exactly the same issue. Also it only logs weight, not %fat or BMI or any other data, just weight. And then sets my Fitbit App back to using lbs rather than stone. Which is odd as the Aria Air display is still showing stone.
I think I'm going to send it back and just return to typing in my data manually with my old scales as this is just rubbish.

We stopped using our fitbit aria for a few years and just reset it. Initially had the same issue until we noticed that you have to update your settings separately for the scale and the app.
The scale settings are on the device.
Then you have to also update App Settings under Account. This is where you set the weight units. Once I updated that I closed the app and reopened it. Then it converted all existing weigh ins and future ones aswell.
I hope this helps others.
