Aria Doubles true BMI measurement

I've been trying to manage my weight and BMI for quite some time now and got the Aria to help with that. For at least the past year, my BMI has been between 39% and 45% according to my Fitbit Aria. Yesterday, I went to the doctor's office, and their scale put my BMI at 28%.

Is there something I can do with my Aria to get better accuracy from it. I was in a right state with it telling me almost half my body weight was pure fat!

I expect your measurements are confusing BMI (Body Mass Index) and body fat %.

BMI is not a %.  It is a calculation based only on weight and height.  BMI gives no indication whether weight is muscle or fat but it is much easier to measure, and is usually calculated in doctor's office without needing special scales..  I expect the 28 from doctor's office is BMI.

The 39-45 % from Aria I expect is body fat %, a totally different measurement, though often confused.  Body fat % measurements are expected to vary somewhat, and are not as precise, varying with time of day and amount of fluid on the body.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
