I can see that my original Aria Scale is syncing... Shows in the Devices list when the last sync took place and it was a few minutes ago. But the Fitbit app is not showing the most recent data for weight. Up until a few days ago the measured weight would show up on the Fitbit app almost immediately after the Aria synced. Now it's taking some amount of time to show up, regardless of refreshing or relaunching the Fitbit app. Something has happened on the backend to delay the new Aria reading showing in the app.

This morning I took the Aria apart. The production date was 2012. The 4 "feet" are the weight sensors, I found one of them was coming apart and most likely my actual problem. I feel a little better that something really did wear out. I'm still getting a much cheaper scale, something I won't feel I need to complain about when it goes bad.

Same problem for me.

It fully stopped syncing for me since yesterday. Since this problem started, it was syncing hours later, but since two days ago, it is not longer syncing. Anyone else having sync stopped completely?

I also had sync reliability issues: it didn't sync on 16/17/18/19 November. Not even the device data. It however synced yesterday 20 November.

The app continues to get updates, but the syncing issue continues … 😤

Could you post here the url to that info? I would like to see more about it. Thank you.

Hi Everyone, I got a chance to speak with a developer over IssueTracker (Fitbit's bug tracking system); as far as I can tell no one was looking into this / they weren't aware. But now we have some progress!
I am looking for some volunteers to help capture the information they need to proceed with the investigation.
Data they need:
(1) Step on the scale, make a note of the current time when you weighin; if you can grab the unix epoch timestamp that would be best! https://www.epochconverter.com/
(2) Monitor the Fitbit weight log (not the recent weighins tab); make a note of the current time when your weighin becomes visible there (not the time showing in the app for the weighin, but the actual time when you see it become available). Again provide unix epoch timestamp please.
If you could report back here with (1) and (2) that would help provide some insight into the latency.
Also.. if you are using any 3rd party integrations that rely on this data if you could please mention which applications you are using that are now broken.

Hi patrick40, and thank you for trying.
I think this won't work because once the sync happens, it will show the time at which the measure was taken. The log won't show the time at which it update in your phone app, it will show the time at which the measure was taken, so 1 and 2 will be the same.
For example, if today I take my weight at 12:33, it may update the day after at 16:52 but the log will show that it was yesterday at 12:33.
Also, I haven't observed a pattern on the time between taking the measure and it being pushed to my device.
If you could explain to that developer that the problem seems to be on their system's notification service not pushing the data down to the devices.
I wish I could be of more help. I already chose a new scale and watch to jump to another brand. This scale even measure bone density 🙂

well all IFTT rules which used to benefit from the near real time push by Fitbit APIs.

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear, I updated my post. Don't grab the time showing in the app, they want the actual time when the weighin becomes visible.

I get you now. That is going to be difficult to get you data that is accurate since I will need to be checking quite often to see when it has updated, but I'll try to do that, I will check many times during the day and see when it updates. Over the last month, what I can say is that there is not a pattern of it updating after this many hours later, to me, it has been happening quite randomly. I will come back tomorrow, or the day after, when I have this information.

TrainingPeaks hasn’t synced for a while now. It seems to me that anything with a registered webhook is broken. The scenario is the app’s webhook is called, resulting in the client then calling the Fitbit API to get the data which is then returning an empty dataset.

With the IFTTT integration applets, it is very easy to tell.
I weight every morning around 7am after waking up. It is part of my routine.
and as the IFTTT activity log indicates, the measure was associated to my user only at:
- 2:44pm on November 23
- 11:32am on November 22
- 5:47pm on November 21
- 9:42am on November 20
etc.

Very random times. That's what I've been observing, there is not a clear pattern.

My timezone EST GMT-5
For what it's worth, someone pointed out that it stopped syncing around the time DST ended (Nov 2) or since the 4.55 release.

I'm on Pixel 6 Pro.
I use Fitbit aria 1 scale for the weight -> Health Connect -> MacroFactor.
As a temporary fix, I've been using a Renpho Scale -> Health Connect -> MacroFactor.
I see Renpho's weight straight away in Health Connect and consequently in MacroFactor as well.
Since Fitbit app eventually shows the Fitbit aria scale's data, I assumed the app reads it from Health Connect, but I never see aria scale's data, only Renpho's.
This status seems to indicate a pairing issue was fixed recently 🤔:
