Aria air doesn’t measure body fat or bmi from out of the box

I recieved my aria from a weightloss program and I have been using it for a month as a “fancy scale” nothing more. I noticed the other day it has a bunch of different things in the scale screen that aren’t lit up including bmi and body fat. Why would that be there if it’s only a regular scale. I would love to know if it’s an option, seeing as it’s a $50 scale.

The Aria Air measures only weight.  Some other previous Fitbit scales did measure body fat.  I expect Fitbit is using the same standard "stock" display element, but  the Aria Air uses only the weight part of the display.

It is not something that can be added on, as it is a basic difference in the hardware in the hardware itself.

If you are using the Fitbit app, the Aria Air does connect via bluetooth to the Fitbit app on your phone and logs your weight there so you can plot and follow your weight there.  That does not require having another Fitbit device.  So in that respect, it is somewhat more that a basic scale.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
