I put new batteries in my aria. It seemed to never properly cycle off and my battery life was about 2 weeks, dead again! Any ideas on how to get the scale back in proper form?

I have a different problem BUT based on my understanding of electronics and experience stepping on and off my scale, it seems like a weight detection sensor is intermittently sending a signal that you have stepped off after a short period.( STEP ON is displayed always) . Although sure to void any warranty, disassembly may reveal the culprit. Dust, debris , moisture, bad connection, or faulty sensor.

@Bouchonne Thank you for joining us in this thread! I'm sorry to hear about the issue that your Aria scale is experiencing. I'd like you to try taking out the batteries and clean the contacts of your scale with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. This will remove any dust that the contacts accumulate. Once you've done this, put the batteries back in and see if the issue gets fixed.

I generally burnish contacts before replacing batteries. So I guess you are
confirming that weight goes down as battery capacity drains?

I have the exact same problem.  Definitely a Fitbit issue.  Not a batteries issue.

@tmatos Welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that the batteries that you've put in your Aria have drained fast. I'd like you to try the following workaround and let me know if the issue persists so I can assist you accordingly: Please take out the batteries, clean the contacts of the scale with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol in order to remove the dust that the scale accumulates.

After this, put the batteries back in (make sure they're not rechargeable and they're are alkalines preferably).

I am also having issues with my Aria scales so i contacted customer services and they useless. Just told me it broken. Well yeah, thats why I contacted them and they couldn't do anything because it was out of warranty

This is 2019 and customer services is extremely important in this digital age.

I will never but anything fitbit again terrible service for what is clearly a know issue after reading the posts on the forum

The first 3 or 4 times I read this, I thought you were referring to the contacts for the batteries. After considering the issues leading to your comment, I believe you are referring to the pads that are stood on. The foot contacts on the top surface of the scale and the space between them.

And to add to the confusion, replies to posts are placed at the end of the thread making it difficult if not impossible to follow the discussion. Communication is the key to our success.

What did Hatter 222 say? ...and when?

Hello everyone.. to recover my Aria from looping and eating batteries had nothing to do with pads or battery connections!!! you new to delete it from your fitbit account and reload it as if it was new. it reloads or updates the Aria scale to new. Mine is still working normally now.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
