Aria body fat increase

For the second time, my Aria has started showing bizarre body fat %ages.

Currently, it has me at 44% and rising.

 

I certainly need to reduce my body fat but I'm not quite *that* dense.

 

My gym has me at 28%

 

The last time this happened it suddenly reverted to normal readings.

 

What is happening?

I see the same since November 4th. In my case the increase has to do with the fact the scale dropped my 

61 kilo lean mass (135 pounds) and 24 kilo fat mass (52 pounds) overnight to 47 kilo lean mass (104 pounds) and 
38 kilo fat mass (84 pounds). I did not amputate a leg nor did I stuff 20 pounds of butter sleepwalking 😞

 

BTW: my profile was complaining I should add a gender. It was there all right, but I changed it to female, saved, and changed it back to male and saved again. My first weight measurement after that change was still a ridiculous number, but the measurement after that one made more sense. It seems a bit more sensible, but might not be back in line with previous measurements however.

I have the same issue. On Nov 4 my Aria 2 registered 19.7% Fat, consistent with readings for a very long time. On Nov 5 my %fat jumped to 32.3 and has remained in the low 30’s. Please advise what is going on.
