I recently had to change out my wifi router. It is the exact same type as my previous router that was connected to the scale but for some reason this scale will not connect to the new router. Oh it was a nightmare connecting the scale to the first wifi as well, but I am over it. !!!!! I have been trying for three days. Shame on you fitbit for putting out such subpar material. some one needs to tell me how to fit this setup or I want my money back. My scale is saying that it has detected the networks but my network does not appear to connect to it. I should have bought a Withings scale. uggh.

I have a new internet provider and my scale doesn't detect my Wi-Fi. I called them and they said it's a "mesh router" and should be able to connect, but nothing seems to work. I'm able to do the set-up process but when it gives me a list of Wi-Fi networks mine doesn't appear.
I had the same issue with my last provider and they were able to create a separate 2.4 GHz connection, but this company can't do that.
So what are my options? If I can't connect to my Wi-Fi what can I do?
Not looking to drop $170 on the Aria 2.

None of my devices are connecting to the new router. They changed my password, now I believe everything has to be reconnected. That's where I'm lost.

I think I figured out the problem everyone has been having connecting their Arias. After many hours of trying, (I recently switched to Comcast) I clicked the "Contact Support" link in the downloadable app. It then crated logs to send to support so I decided to look through those myself. I found that the scale was trying to connect with an IP of 192.168.240.1 which is not even close to what my home network is. So I took a second router I had around and connected it's WAN port to my provider's router's LAN port and set the IP of the new router to 192.168.240.1. I then used the wifi from the second router to connect the scale and it went through fine. Evidently the Aria can only connect to a network on a 192.168.240.X network IP. I know it will be hard for non-techies to use this information but hopefully it will help someone.

No, I didn't get a new network provider. They only changed my package when my promotional charges expired. I thought deleting the scale and reinstalling might help. Not when you can't connect to the Aria network.
Still never connected. Now I have 2 Fit bit scales that don't work.

@Stone520 Thank you for participating in this thread! I would like to know what is the protocol that is running your router. This information can be confirmed with your Internet service provider in case you don't know where to see this information. Also, make sure that bandwidth is 2.4GHz. After this, follow the setup process again as advised in this help article.
Let me know how it goes!

Just came across this thread as I was looking for solutions to the "WIFI ERR" message. Similar to a lot of the replies here, I just got a brand-new wi-fi router and was trying to set up the Aria with it. Kept getting to the last step in the setup process (switching back to the home network from the Aria network) when it failed, and it was driving me crazy. Everything seemed correct, according to that set-up guide above (wi-fi network was 2.4g and "b" mode compatible, simple SSID, network was seen in the setup process, etc.), but the last connection kept failing.
So I tried something on a whim - and it worked. It might not solve anything for anyone else, but I wanted to put it out there - maybe it will be helpful to the Fitbit team as they work on a solution on their end. Just a caution though, if you don't have admin access to your router settings, you won't be able to do this. Sorry.
The only thing I did was change the channel of the 2.4g wi-fi network (I had it set to 6, you may have it set to Auto, or another value) to 11. The temporary wi-fi network the Aria creates when it takes you through the setup process seems to also be on channel 11, which is what gave me the idea. This got me through the setup process fully, finally, and everything is working (for now). If it de-syncs tomorrow or something, I'll follow up. Good luck!

@Stone520 Thank you for getting back! I'll be happy to find a solution to this issue. I just need you to please let me know the details requested previously: The make and model of your router. Also, make sure that your password is alphanumerical and the router protocol is 802.11b. The password and protocol can be verified with your Internet service provider.
Looking forward to your response!

Did not work for me when I changed to a new network router. I had to go to the control panel , go to "Network and Internet" and highlight the ethernet connection, then click on the option to disable the connection. It showed my wireless was connected. Then I went through the ARIA setup instructions and it finally worked. Someone said to unplug your ethernet but if you do that you lose internet connection completely. So I figured this out instead and had it done in only 6 hours!!! WHY ISN"T THIS POSTED AS A SOLUTION? It only took a minute once I disabled the ethernet connection under "Network and Internet" in the control panel.

I thought the same thing. He should be apologizing for the inconvenience, not issuing an insincere "good job!"

Convince me it should take 4 hours to accomplish, and it looks like I was lucky. I will add that if you don;t get a screen or prompt to join another network, you need to start over. I got linked on my Amazon Fire. I went to fitbit.com/scale/setup/start and I think each time you start the process over if you have failed, you need to take the batteries out and put the scale in set up mode again,. Just because it says it is, I don't think so. Good luck folks. This was a lot more painful than it should have been. I re set up my Amazon Fire, Dot, Echo, Bluray player, my phone and 2 laptops all in less time than the scale 😞 Bad process here. Maybe you can add it to the dashboard so you can change the router or network?

Not sure if it is my router or the scale but I find restarting my router fixes the problem of it not connecting after you have it set up and working.
