Aria display: pixelated and unreadable

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Aria scale is unreadable now - you can only see the bottom portion of numbers and BMI but the top numbers are cut off by a blank screen. I replaced the batteries and restarted the scale but nothing fixed it. Can the display or lighting be broken? Can it be fixed? Note that everything else still works fine - it syncs to my wifi and my app. It's just the display on the scale that needs to be fixed

@Jazminmedina It's great to have you aboard in our Fitbit Community! Seems odd that your Aria's display is not working properly. I'd like you to try cleaning the contacts of your scale, where the batteries are placed, with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. This will remove dust that the springs may accumulate. After this, put the batteries back in and check out if the display gets corrected.

Keep me posted on the outcome my friend! Smiley Happy

Hi, I tried to clean the contacts of the scale and where the batteries were placed - once I did that, the screen actually looked wonderful and clear. However, once I stepped on the scale it went back to a screen where the display was messed up. Once you put pressure on the scale, it seems like straight
"blank" lines cut through the display, so you only get the top of the numbers and a bit of the bottom of the numbers. Is there anything else I can do to fix the display? @JuanJoFitbit

@Jazminmedina Thanks for getting back and trying the troubleshooting steps mentioned above! Since the display is acting weird after you did the workaround, I'll forward your case to our Support team so they can investigate further and provide a solution for this. You should receive an email from them soon.

The same has happened to my aria scales. Just a blank screen with a few black dots here and there.

@padm88 Thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria's display is not showing the words completely or properly. I'd like to know if you have tried another set of batteries. If you have tried this, make sure that they're not rechargeable since these batteries don't have the same voltage as the regular or alkaline batteries.

On an aside note, please clean the contacts of your scale with a cotton swab and some alcohol in order to remove dust that the contact accumulate.

Let me know if this fixes the issue! Smiley Happy

I’m having the same or similar issue. Fitbit display has been gradually getting dimmer / pixelated and unreadable. Even after fresh new batteries and cleaned terminal contacts.
today it is no longer displaying anything, but the scale works and updates on my Fitbit app.

I am having a similar issue. I have changed the batteries, cleaned the battery compartment and the coils, and still cannot read the numbers on the scale.

Same here - for the last yr...display lights up and stays blank...sometimes has a few dots but nothing close to displaying any numbers/characters....wt syncs to app...but its a gamble w/o display on when to step on and get off.

finally made time to chat w support - long story short, was told: "cannot fix it & is beyond 365 days; but, is an excellent opportunity to buy the latest". Though it ticked me off - politely declined and now I need to move to another more reliable option. Wish I had not wasted time to chat and just moved on.

It's embarrassing and ridiculous to post such completely useless and out of topic solutions.  I guess you are a bot.

I also have a problem with the screen, are screen failures a common occurrence with these scales?

I’ve tried the suggested options of cleaning it and changing the batteries but only a few pixels show?

We’ve also changed our internet service - is there a way I can sync the scales with my phone again as it is no longer accessing an internet line?

Thanks

Unfortunately, I do not work for Fitbit, so I cannot answer your questions.
I bought a different bluetooth scale and threw the fitbit one out.

Thanks,
Kate
