Aria with brand new batteries this morning. Setup active came up....and when I stepped on, my weight and BMI appeared as usual....but the scale then goes into "step off" and just keeps recycling that message until all battery power is used up. Help!! Anyone have any suggestions?

@justoneil It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'll be happy to follow up and find a solution for the "Ste off" message you get on your Aria 2. Please make sure that the batteries are not rechargeable. If they aren't, please weigh yourself 5 times in a row in order to re-calibrate your scale and see if the issue gets fixed.
Let me know how it goes!

I also have the same problem, when new batteries are fitted (not rechargeable) it sets up and works well but every time it goes into a random setup mode asking me to step on or step off, I also get sensing messages
the most recent batteries lasted less than 5 days which is not acceptable
today i I will replace the batteries and then do the 5 weigh ins and see what happens

@Madpal Thank you for participating in this thread! Thank you also for trying a new set of batteries. Please take out the batteries and clean the contacts or springs with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. This will remove any dust that the springs may accumulate. After this, put the batteries back in and monitor your Aria's behavior.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

@Madpal Thank you for getting back! I want to follow up on your case and would like to know if your Aria scale has been working properly and if the error message disappeared.
Regarding your question, your Aria scale will display a message stating that an update is available. If yours doesn't display this message, it means that it has the correct and the most updated firmware.
See you later!

Dear Juan
My scales have never asked for any update since I brought them, but it seems to be working again but every now and then it has an eppy where it asks you to step on or step off
It has done this ever since the first set of batteries were replaced and every time thereafter
Best Regards

@justoneil I appreciate your reply! I'd like to know two details: is your scale placed on an even or flat surface? Are you stepping on the scale barefooted?
Looking forward to your response!

So many people including myself have experienced this. I had a chat with customer services who got me to check all the usual stuff batteries etc and then told me if the scale had been in warranty they would have replaced it. I bought it second hand but at the time it went wrong it would have been covered! They take the warranty from the first date your scale registers with them online. I bought a scale for 34 pounds Anyoyo bodyfat scale from a famous online supplier begining with A. In my opinion a much better scale easy setup and the app has never failed to connect and store my info. Good luck

Have the same problem and talked to support. They gave a generic troubleshooting suggestion to cycle the batteries but I believe it is a bad/failing sensor or a firmware glitch in v39 that does not allow it to shutdown if it has an issue. It shouldn’t stay on that long and waste the batteries. Final solution they offered is free shipping to buy an Aria2. RIP Aria 1.

Hi Jogger
I found new batteries and good WiFi solved the problem
I wouldnt replace as it costs too much, the problem persists
At times but I ignore it and eventually it does revert back to
Normal use, unfortunately these days they want you to upgrade
instead of supporting old technology, it’s the same with the Fitbit
Watches I’ve had 4 different types each time because the strap
breaks after about a year.
Good luck with the scales
Best Regards
