So I was lucky enough to have my bathroom flood on me - and my fitbit scale was one of the casualties. I have stood it upright to drain out the water, and want to make sure the battery compartment is completely dry before I attempt to replace them. Has anyone been successful with a similar scenario, or do you have any advise about how best to approach this?

Hi @Carms81 you need to find a way to remove the extra moisture and the usual way suggested on the forums is dry rice in a bowl. Is there a way you could put the portion of the scale where the battery terminal is into a bit of dry rice, maybe in a box? I do know that rubbing alcohol dries and I've used that when batteries have corroded and I need to clean the area. Be sure you do clean all the battery area before putting in fresh batteries. Let us know what happens. Sorry about the bathroom. On a good note, the floor must surely be clean. We're here if you need anything.

If you haven't done so, move the scale out of the bathroom which usually has a higher humidity because of baths, showers, etc.
It would also not be a bad idea to place in a warmer spot. Maybe add a small fan to circulate the air around the scale. Rice is used to limit the humidity as the unit dries.
Most electronics have no issues with water if no voltage is applied.
I would think that it would be fine once dried but this may take a week or more.

@Carms81 sorry that it happened to you. There is the new Aria Air scale now, too. Let us know what you get.

Yes i was worried about water getting in the display. If the scale works and syncs to your account, you may ew t to continue to use it. Keep it out of the bathroom and eventually the display should also dry up but this may take a few months to do.

The only problem I have here is that it doesnt appear to be syncing. I wonder if I can blindly re-connect to the wifi to get it to work 🤔

Let it dry out. It took 6 months for my brothers phone to come back to life.
