Aria is not connecting to Wi-Fi

When first starting my Aria I pulled the tab and it said somthing about setup. I went thru the download setup and aria didn't sync. When I went thru again it said to pull one battery then reinsert battery and if did properly it would come back to setup, but it doesn't. It reads out my wifi name as though it seems to be connected but looking at my listing for my wireless devices it is not listed. More guidence please.

Well I kept at them and after a few months and back and forth with them I finally convinced them that it was the scale and not my router. They sent me a new scale and five minutes later I was back in business.

I am exploring purchasing an Aria Scale. However I do not have a router. I live in a community where wireless is provided. Will the scale work without my own personal router?

ENABLE IPv6 Pass Through.

IPv6 > Connection Settings

IPv6 allows devices like Aria to connect to each other via the Internet.

Devices connected to your router can talk to each other using native IPv6 packets. IPv6 packets on the LAN will automatically be sent to all LAN interfaces (Ethernet ports and both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks).

When pass-through is enabled, IPv6 packets will also be copied to the WAN interface. (This creates a direct, non-secure connection to the Internet.) Please contact your ISP for information about their support for IPv6.

I can't figure out how to post a question, so I'm tagging onto this reply. I've been working at setting up my scale for over an hour and no such luck. We moved and I am trying to connect. I'm using my smartphone for connecting it. After taking out the battery, setting it up, linking to the aria network, then I click connect and that is where everything stops. It just tries to connect, but doesn't. I don't know how to ge tin further.

Clevelynne: I was messing up with Aria today (got it today). I had the same problem. I believe eventually what probably helped me was to turn off bluetooth and data on my phone (or either of them, I disabled both, can't tell which one it was), just keep the WiFi on. On my phone the setup webpage eventually found available WiFi networks, I connected to Aria then to my WiFi with passowrd and voila.

Having that said I have no idea if turning off bluetooth and data on the phone will help. Your mileage can vary. Anyway, good luck!

@dibbler: The way I understand it is that you need to be able to connect to the WiFi by your smartphone (notebook / PC) and that you have to know the password. You connect Aria using your phone or PC to the WiFi.

If you don't now the password you either need someone to tell you, or ask the guy who is in charge of the WiFi if he can connect Aria on your phone / PC to the WiFi (by entering the password) but actually you if you use the WiFi you already know the password, right?

Also bear in mind that in the instructions is that if you change the router, change WiFi password or name you will have to connect Aria gain.

Hey folks, I am having the same issue, I tried the solutions to no avail.  It goes through all steps just fine but when its joining the network, it basically just turns off after trying to join for awhile.  I have been at this for about 3 hours now.  any suggestions?

I have come to the conclusion that the software on the scale is flawed.  When mine first stopped working, I contacted Fitbit.  After some argument with them, they sent me a new scale.  That one worked for about 5 months and then it stopped working.  I've tried everything to get it to reconnect.  I am quite tech savvy and cannot get it to connect.  I give up.  It's just an expensive scale any more.

Same issue here. I bought my scale a year ago. It worked for a few months. And one day it disconnected from my wifi to never get connected again. They told me it has to do with the protocol. It needs 802.11b I believe. It does not work on any other protocol. Whatever I tried over the months to get connected it does not work. I am back to manually logging my data into my Android app. But I bought the Aria for the reason that I sent the info automatically. The software seems outdated and sucks. The helpdesk could not help and got tired of me.

@PaulPainter Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale stopped connecting to your network all of a sudden. In order to assist you properly, please let me know the following details that will help me to determine the cause of the issue: Does your Aria show any error message on the display when it tries to connect? Have you made any other changes to your network such as WiFi password? What is the make and model of your router?

Looking forward to your response! Smiley Happy

Good morning everyone so I called the phone number and I was told that the original Aria scale will not connect to the Wi-Fi any longer. If you want to scale that works you’ll have to buy the Aria 2 scale. The scale will still work but you will have to manually and put your weight into your Fitbit app so you don’t have to waste money buying another scale
