Aria keeps displaying a"Step on, Thinking" message

My Aria keeps on cycling step on, thinking out of nowhere. And drains my batteries in outbout 3 weeks or so. It worked fine for 2/3 years and now it doesn't stop with the message. Already tried to rerun set-up / other brand of batteries but the problem remains.

Thanks for the repair suggestion. I was thinking cat hair had jammed up the travel to reset to off position but now I will open up the case and check the springs.

After my rubber band fix, mine is still working normally after a year. Good luck!

The rubber band around the base of two of the feet to offset the broken plastic springs seems to be working. I taped the batteries in place and I'll use if a while this way before replacing the cover so see if it works over time. Getting the cover off is the hard part. I used several plastic repair tools and the wooden handle of a spatula to separate the two halves and a lot of finger pressure.

There are 12 post/socket connections to separate to get it off (Circled in RED). The posts are on the bottom cover and the sockets are on the top frame that holds the feet and the circuitry etc. The posts in the corner came apart easily enough, but 2 of the 8 inner ones had to be broken to make full separation for me (YELLOW arrows). I ended up using a slim utility blade to cut at the base of the post on the bottom cover to get them to break off.

Given the customer service stories here, the cost of this device and the lack of ease of service, I would likely never buy one of these again.
