Even with new batteries, the Aria keeps turning on and off until the batteries die. It will not recognize me, I'm always a guest. But, it recognizes my wife right away.

I am having the same problem. It keeps turning on and drains the battery. I have tried everything mentioned previously such as cleaning the battery contacts but the problem persists. Is there another solution or a way to have the scale repaired?

Juan Jo, I have done your battery cleaning suggestion with no resolution to the problem. You indicate that if this doesn't work that you will continue to assist. Please provide the continued support. This problem is a problem that will require engineering to solve. This is not a user problem. Please elevate this to the proper people.

I have the same issue. My scale goes through a Costco-sized AA battery pack like nothing else. Battery compartment contact are clean. It would be nice to be able to roll back the firmware version to see if it's the problem.

I just wish they would admit to the problem and fix it. They need to fix it based on the model having a design and not as a warranty issue.
My wife and I have both abandoned our FitBits as our activity trackers because of their lack of response. Especially as this isn’t an isolated issue.

Same issue here, cleaned the contacts many times. To be clear it's not a power issue, the scale randomly is trying to weigh, it thinks something has touched or is on the scale. Lifting it off the floor turns it back off. As much as I've spent on batteries, might be cheaper to buy a new one and I'm a die hard Fitbit fan, however I can not bring my self to buy the Aria 2 unless I knew for sure this was fixed.

Well continuous complaints coming in still but no response from FitBit other than the moderator. It’s obvious a huge issue with the Aria. An excellent way for FB to say we aren’t interested in our customers satisfaction. Good Bye and Good Riddance.

Haven't head from customer service. It's unfortunate but I don't think there is real will to solve this. Time to try another brand?

I don’t expect an answer. It’s a shame.
The product failed after a year of warranty; I did not have the time to follow it up. Recently I called them and they said it was defective. I think I am going to take the product apart and put it on you tube. It is unfortunate they designed a product to last only a year. This was an expensive mistake.
Wow. They said it was defective, they couldn’t tell me anything, didn’t even offer a discount on a new model.

My Aria is doing the same thing. It just keeps turning on by itself.
Base on the responses here, I am guessing it would not be worth it to get in touch with support since they aren't doing anything about it and there is no fix that actually works.
Mine is our of warranty as well.

a link to the warranty page is not helpful. I already know the aria is out of warranty. what would be helpful would be a fix to the issue.

My thoughts exactly @SunsetRunner (Jogger). I think FitBit should replace each persons scale that has reported this issue here. But I am pretty sure that won’t happen.

Hi All,
I've recently started having the same issue, with the Aria turning on by itself and the messages "sensing" and "step on" appearing.
Just my 2 cents, but I believe this is most likely a sensor calibration issue (as mentioned in a previous post), where the sensor becomes extremely responsive, to the point in picks up small vibrations in the timber floor joists below).
I live in a 2 storey townhouse, and the issue seems to have fixed itself since I moved the scale from the upper floors (timber bearers and joists) to the ground floor (concrete slab on ground, where there's no vibration due to people walking).
If you don't have a lower floor, then your best bet is probably locating a brick support pier and putting your scale directly over it, to minimise the vibrations.

I am having the same problem. I changed the battery and it drained it right away. Up until April 2019 I had no problems. Very annoying. Have you come up with a viable solution yet?
