Aria lean mode weight readings are off

I've tried researching multiple times to figure stuff out before posting. Because there are many threads on issues and remedies. So I've done the weight yourself 5 times to calibrate. (6 just to be sure it was calibrated)
I've also tried the turn on lean mode. Weigh yourself. Turn off lean mode. Then weigh yourself 5 times to calibrate.

The second worked once. I tried to calibrate like that again today and it didn't work. Usually when you do that on lean mode and you are over weight the body fat % drops by a lot. I'm sure my weight is correct but I'm sure I'm more than 224.7 lean. Shoot 3 days ago it was showing 227. My arms and shoulders are showing a bit more definition. My legs are doing squats easier and my glutes aren't as sore.

Should I just realize that the Aria 2 is just junk unless your not fat? With what I paid for it I thought it would be a great product in my weightloss.

Those variations in w eigh-in time would lead to inconsistencies in body fat %.  Best first thing in morning after using restroom, before eating or drinking anything.

The way the scale measures body fat % is that is passes a small electrical current through your body and measures the electrical resistance.  Fluids in body directly affect that, as water conducts electricity easily, and muscles contain more fluids (blood vessels) than fat.  So being dehydrated, as after working out, makes it look like less muscle.  Likewise drinking right before looks like more muscle.  That's why in the morning after restroom is the time your fluid balance will be  most consistent, coming into balance after sleeping.

I'm having a bit of trouble understand the issue.

Is the gist of it basically that you do not think the body fat % number is correct?

Your right I meant to put; I'm sure my body weight and body fat % is right. but I believe it isn't reading my lean muscle mass right.

If your body fat % is right, lean mass should just be everything except fat %.  Are those totals not adding up?

There's no way of knowing if it's right or wrong. After doing the lean calibration that I mentioned my body fat was 36.8 or something along those lines. Then it dropped to 32%, after a three more weigh ins this week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. It went back up to 34.2%. I've counted all food eaten. I've been exercising and even doing DDP yoga. While also doing retail in a hardware store. So a lot of walking and most of the time moving medium to heavy objects.

So yesterday I took the battery’s out and re weighted myself. My body fat % went from 33.3 to 37.5. I guess my aria just doesn’t work properly anymore.

I assume you know to weight at same time every day, preferably in the morning first thing after using the toilet.  Body fat % readings by this method are very sensitive to fluid variations.

Yup in the morning after waking up. Sometimes I would do it after waking up drinking my protein shake for breakfast (16oz) fast and finish working my 5 hour shift at work. Come home work out. Then use the restroom and and weight myself.

Thank you. I'll just try to make it work and not look at the scale and let fitbit see the numbers. 🙂
