Aria not syncing after new WiFi

Hello, I see this is an old issue but can’t find the resolution. My WiFi was updated and since then Aria won’t sync. Any ideas? I’ve tried to put Aria into set up mode but it seemed like it was connected and didn’t help.

Thanks!

Hello @TortoisenotHare, you will need to reset your Aria scale and re-connect to the new WiFi, and it should work.

Removing the battery and re-insert helped when I tried it.

Note: someone mentioned that updating the DNS solved an issue they had.

Unfortunately this didn’t work. I think it’s time for a new one. Thanks for responding though!

Hi, the scale should work with newer routers, provided that:

1) the router wifi settings are configured to support the older 802.11b wifi standard. Newer routers might not have it active by default.

2) the wifi password only contains letters and numbers

3) the network security is configured to support WPA2 (no WPA3 only... usually you have an option WPA2 + WPA3 and that should work fine)

If your router allows you to configure a Guest wifi network, my advice is to put the scale in that network, so that you can define a separate wifi password with only letters and numbers (while continuing to have a more secure password for your main wifi). Also, since the firmware of the scale is not supported anymore, it might have security issues that will never be fixed, so it's best to put the scale in a Guest network where usually (again, depending on the router's settings) devices are isolated and cannot communicate with other devices on the wifi network.

Hi  .... I had this problem too and had to go into my router admin settings and make sure the Wifi  for the 2.5Ghz was set to b/g/n wireless mode ..and not just the g/n or n only .. that allowed me to walk through the set up on the Aria scale to connect to the Wifi finally!

Scale still doesn't upload the weight though.. seems like the move to google has possibly messed up some of the functionality.
