I’ve troubleshooted and read all the comments previously but no success.
As soon as it says STEP OFF the ERR message comes up.
batteries changed, resynced changed work surfaces, re calibrated blah blah and No change!!
Support solution - sorry there is now solution and because your ARIA is more than one year old we won’t replace and you can’t fix. Honestly after so many issues with firbits and now this I’m going back to Garmin unless anyone has a magic solution....

I had the same issue. I was told to throw it away and buy a new one! At very least Fitbit should offer a discount on this substandard piece of junk! It seems that this is a known issue but since Fitbit is profiting from its loyal customers who keep replacing their scales, why should they fix it! Unacceptable business practices! Fitbit lost another loyal customer here!

Same issue for me. It has worked fine until the most recent battery replacement. I guess this will be my last FitBit product.

Hi Charleyquant,
I read several threads about the Aria suddenly starting the Step off...Step off...Step off...ERR message. Reset did not work, stepping on it five times did not work, etc. I finally read about someone who found some broken plastic bits inside, that caused the multiple sensors to cause the software to be confused, ending in ERR. So I opened up our Aria, and in looking for any broken plastic bits I found none! But in examining the four sensors, I discovered that the white platic assembly had come loose from the black plastic clip that would usually hold the white plastic assembly in place; instead it 'floated'...evidently causing the ERR. I pushed it back in place, put batteries in to dry run a test without the case, and IT WORKED again. So I put the bottom cover back in place, and our Aria is once again working!
