Do not buy the scale.  The digital

display has fades after 12 months.  Buyer beware.

Are the batteries fully charged? That sounds about the life expectancy of the battwries to me. Complain to customer service maybe they can fix it!

The batteries that came with it, won't last much more than a few months.

Why I won't buy another fitbit product:   Email from cust 'support' regarding my broken Aria:

If the details above are correct, we are sorry but Fitbit Aria is currently out of our limited warranty period, which we could confirm with the information you have provided. For more information about our warranty policy, please visit www.fitbit.com/returns.

Currently we do not have a repair center and our retailers aren't certified to repair any Fitbit product, which is why we do not produce replacement parts. We apologize for the inconvenience. Our apology may not be enough at this time. However, we'd really like to keep you in the Fitbit family and working towards your goals.

That being said, we'd like you to consider our Aria 2 scale. Based on all the feedback we have received from customers improvements have been made in the newest generation of the scale, including measurement range, updates on the firmware and a Backlit LCD display.

You may consult our web store for further details, paying special attention to our newly released Aria 2: https://www.fitbit.com/store.

We're constantly striving to improve our products and services and your feedback is a great way to enhanced our learning path.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

My response:

I've had similar experiences with fitbits in the past, clearly an issue on your end, cite the warranty explanation issue and provide no assistance.   I don't know why anyone would want to continue to buy products from a company with such poor customer service.    It is all over your fitbit community site.   No thank you - I will go with one of your less expensive, more positively reviewed competitors.

@Caribwm It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria's display won't turn on. I'll be glad to help you and find a solution for this issue. Please take out the batteries, clean the contacts or springs of your scale with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. Once this has been done, put a new set of batteries (make sure that the're not rechargeable). Once this has been done, check out if the display turns on as it should.

@MissAli @AZToast Thanks a lot for your help and contribution my friends!

@Goelsewhere I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale stopped working as well and it's no longer under warranty. The warranty is good for 365 days. I really understand your frustration and how you feel about this. Thank you for your feedback and comments also and I'll forward this info to our team since this helps us to keep improving.

See you all later! Smiley Happy

I have the same case, The LCD screen has faded or not visible anymore. I have a new batteries and thought I could hard reset this thing but no luck. This is clearly and should have been a recall on this Aria Product line.

Same problem happened to me, replace the batteries and realised if you shine a light through the led display that the led display works but the backlight stopped working so you can not see the display. Reported this to Fitbit and  they acknowledged the problem but nothing came of it as the product was out of warranty.
