Aria scale says I am a Guest

My Aria scale keeps registering me as a guest.

I have gone on the website and assigned those measurements to myself with several weigh ins. The issue persists. I did every step from your help article at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/Why-is-my-scale-recognizing-me-as-a-guest

I asked FitbitSupport on twitter for what to do. They directed me to other support channels at https://twitter.com/FitbitSupport/status/671125370855292928 where I got the contact number.

Now I am on hold for Fitbit to answer. It has been over an hour and 45 minutes. While I wait, can anybody help me fix this issue with my Aria scale, please?

Make sure the scale name and your initial's match. It will sync automatically.

I got it to work. Thescale name and your initial's have to be the same. Once i changed that everything synced.

I solved this problem by replacing the scale with one from Yunmai for about half the cost of the Aria scale.

Yunmai Premium Smart Scale - Body Fat Scale with Fitness APP and ... https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01C6CUFM2/ref

It connects via Bluetooth and doesn't eat batteries like they were potato chips.  I'm still on the same batteries that came with the scale about a year ago.  Just go to the settings in the Yunmai phone app and send the data to FitBit.

Mine has been on tile floor all the time.

I just had the same problem - weird!  Then I logged in through the app, brought the Aria device up, scrolled down to "recent weigh-ins".  I went in there, clicked on the recent 'guest' weigh-in and assigned that weight to myself.  We'll see what happens next time I weigh in but so far that weight has been assigned to me.

I have assigned all weights to myself which it says guest. Scale can say me and guest in a matter of 10 minutes. I have lost about 20 lbs since March and it seems if I weigh in and I'm less weight it says I'm a guest. Will keep trying. Thanks.

@FerdinandFitbit: The link to 'these instructions' in your above answer in fact goes here:

Far from helpful in all the circumstances. 😞

I agree! I feel frustrated for someone else waiting over 2 hours for a solution and yet it's not shared publicly in this forum

Our scale is on a hard surface, not carpet, it keeps calling me Guest.

I have to enter my weight manually into my fitbit app 5x before it recognizes me on the scale?

I can't get my initiasls in, only says guest.

Same here!

I did an online chat with fitbit and they linked me to my account and I was to put in my correct weight which I did and it would correct itself in 4 days. that was 2 weeks ago last Friday. I am still a guest.......Mine is on a tile floor also. It used to work.

Took me a while to find this message, I made the mistake of setting up on carpet and was ‘guest’ but after 5 attempts it synced as suggested - tried everything else, Fitbit help was no help - thank you !!!

Hello Ferdinand,

my scale scale says I am a guest. I think this is because I set it up at night after a full day of eating, but I actually always weigh myself in the morning and there is a different of about 5 lbs.

please help. I want to be registered as myself not as a guest on my scale

Did you do it on a hard floor or carpet ? This generally happens when your
weight change is significant from the first time you weighed yourself so it
thinks you are not the same person and hence it calls you a guest

I tooke out the batteries and then weighed myself 3 x times in a row on a
hard surface and have kept the scales in the same place evr since - this
then reset me to myself 🙂 it is also best to weigh yourself at the same
time ever day ... thks
