Hi. I am getting an err message too. I haven't replaced batteries. The scales is only a few months old. I don't know how to fix it. Very disappointing

Mine is dead too...no solutions to be found anywhere....and a deafening silence from Fitbit, except "you're out of warranty so just buy a new one".

@Lmacneill Thanks for joining our Fitbit Community and thanks for joining us @SunsetRunner! Let me help you guys with the "Thinking ERR" issue you are experiencing with your Aria scales. Besides taking the batteries out or resetting your Aria scales, are your scales placed on an even or flat surface? If so, please restart your scales again and once you put the batteries back in, weigh yourselves 5 consecutive times. This will re-calibrate your scales internally. Finally, check out if the error message disappears.

Hi Juan. We all know that this doesn't actually do anything. I challenge you to actually find ONE person that this has worked for. ONE. You know that the product is defective and always has been.

It's pretty sad that Fitbit has abandoned its customers like this.

  • Since yours is less than a year old, it would still be under warrreny and you can get it replaced. That's sadly not the case with mine which will soon join the heap of Arias at our recycling depot, unless Fitbit will take it back to fix it. In my dreams...they just want me to buy the next model and when that one dies, steer me to the next and so on. Fitbit is toast - I'm definely buying another brand, like Nokia which has recently acquired Withings.

Juan...sorry, I'm quite done trying to get it to work, unless you can refer me one single user who has found a solution. My Aria will soon join the heap of broken Arias at our recycling depot.

Mine is 1.4 years old - just old enough nit to be under warranty any longer.  I got walked through the same BS process everyone else was walked through, which ultimately results in the fitbit tech saying that the sensors have gone bad and the scale needs to be replaced, and unless it is less than a year old, you are out of luck.  I also heard a lot about how their engineers are working on improvements and important changes in the design of the aria 2 - but here is the kicker - the aria 2 is not even available for sale yet, so I could not replace it - even if I wanted to.  What a monumental corporate fail.

Yes - I would like to hear about that as well.

Hi! I had the same problem and decided to buy a new scale since Fitbit wasn’t doing anything. I found one that was better and less expensive.
