Aria shows a "NO SYNC" error message

Hello,

after years of it working faultlessly, my Aria is still connecting ok to the wifi but then comes up with NO SYNC. After searching all of the forums I discovered this has to do with the modem (even though nothing has changed there) and the way the Aria connects. I tried re-connecting it through hotspot from an iphone and it worked perfectly. I then connected back to my wifi router and still NO SYNC. I then renamed my iPhone to the same name and password as the router and with hotspot on - the Aria connected and performed a sync perfectly. 

Is there a particular setting on my wifi router or on Fitbit so that I can get the money talking to each other again?

I'm fairly new to iPhone...How do you connect the scale through a hotspot?  It would be kind of annoying to have to do that but it would be better than what I have now...which is no connection whatsoever!  Thanks!
