Put new batteries in, unit comes on shows the wifi network is "OurNetwork", says tap to change, then off. I stand on scale, it comes up "sensing", then "step off, then "thinking...", then finally ERR
What's going on? We've also had issues with it staying on and thus burning through batteries. Seems like it's flaking out.

Hi @MikeMartin65,
It looks like your scale might need some recalibration. Please follow the instructions that @JuanJoFitbit mentioned in this post to see if that helps.

No, that was a waste of time - never recalibrated or came up with anything other than ERR.
I tried your suggestions, and nothing worked. I'm really starting to get frustrated with not being able to use the scale and there doesn't seem to be any solution coming from Fitbit.

I have the same error issue. If it is out of warranty, nothing works to fix it except throwing it away and buying a new scale.

Well, it definitely won't be a Fitbit product. They don't even seem to monitor their support forums. I haven't heard a peep from any actual Fitbit support staff.

I faced the same issue some time ago after moving to a new place. I thought it was caused by a new wifi router I got installed in the new house (being incompatible with Aria scale wifi module).
Today I got a new wifi router and I thought it is worth trying to resurrect the scale.
I configured it to use the new wifi and I still see the ERR error.
What is funny I see that scale actually is able to connect to Cloud - I see "Jul 30, 2019 at 0:24" as last synced date/time.
That makes me think it is faulty software update (v39) causing this issue.
Fitbit - how can you constantly ignore your customers?
You know what? I spent probably couple of hours trying to solve it when the problem occurred first time and today. Also spent a lot of time thinking about how to solve it since I am a software engineer and I thought it can be solved with or without Fitbit Support. Now I think it is all waste of time and money! Assuming that I measure my weight every other day, it gives 180 measurements per year. Manual entry of a measurement takes ~20 seconds with my cellphone. So it is 1 hour per year, total!
I should have never bought the scale in the first place and did all measurements manually. That would be better from economical and practical point of view!!! I would have saved time and money.
I am going to Costco tomorrow and I am buying a simplest scale for 20$ that will last ages. This will be surely much more durable product than Aria.
Also - our planet is dying. Since you produce low quality products that die after warranty expire you are significantly contributing to that. One day your customers may stop buying your products because of that.

I have a feeling this was planned obsolescence and its kinda rude to do that or to knowingly program a new a software knowingly that the previous versions were going to bug themselves out. Im currently on a support ticket, ive tried it all, thinking ERR. I think Ive weighed myself 30 times since yesterday and removed the battery and the latch thats so hard to put back each time you want to redo what they want us to do. I think previous ARIA scales need a serious software rollback to work. Much before version 37. I was yesterday on ver 39, it automagically got ver 37 and it still remains unable to work or calibrate my weight, with a recently synch profile yesterday of which I also deleted my aria from my profile.

I've basically tossed mine in the back of the closet and have pretty much decided to dump fitbit all together. If they don't come out with a fix for the scale pretty soon, I'm going to by Garmin's.
