Aria stuck and draining batteries

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

We've had our Aria for two years. In the last few months it suddenly has multiple issues. It gets stuck saying Step Off and never gives you your weight. Or it shows the weight and gets stuck trying to sync. OR it gets stuck somewhere in the middle and says ERR. We've reset it. We've reset it and set up a new network. We've changed the batteries six times as it keeps draining them overnight when it gets stuck somewhere. We've cleaned the battery connections as well.

We love the connectivity of having the Aria talk to our Fitbit app. But I am unwilling to plunk down $130 every two years for that function.

Any real solutions other than purchasing a new scale?

@JessBarton Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is displaying an "ERR" message and the batteries drain fast. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue properly before contacting our forums.

Due to this, let me go ahead and forward your case to our Support team so they can investigate further and provide a solution. You will receive an email from them soon.

The solution is that the aria is out of warranty and should be replaced. Apparently the sensors not balancing and working after about two years is a known issue for the Aria 1. Not willing to invest in an Aria 2. Thanks!

@JessBarton I'm sorry about the experience you had with your Aria scale and I'm also sorry that it's no longer under warranty. I know how frustrating this is for you.

I appreciate your feedback and comments since this helps us to keep improving.

I’m having this same issue.  It’s an expensive scale to break after only a few years.  Every time I step off the scale, it just keeps circling.  The batteries drain unless I remove them after each weight-in.

Same exact thing happened to me. Same troubleshooting results. Same response from customer support. I cannot believe they’re not offering some kind of a discount for another scale. I would think that’s the very least they could do. They’re response might as well say yes we know the scale has issue and nearly everyone who purchased one was affected but No, we’re going to do absolutely nothing about it.
