Aria won't connect to WiFi network

Has anyone found a fix to the Aria 1 WiFi connection problem?

Disappointed that because I have dual band internet, which I have had for a year now, fitbit help desk says it is my internet providers fault it no longer connects.

Nothing has changed on my WiFi, nothing at all on my end, it is the scale that suddenly will not connect.

Help!

@Shicks85 Since you have made no changes to your network and your scale is still unable to connect with your network, I'll forward your case to our Support team so they can investigate further and provide a solution for you. You should receive and email from them soon.

Just wanted to follow up on this. It turns out that the latest incarnation of the Comcast/Xfinity cable modem/router does not even have an 802.11b protocol as an option. It is no longer supported.

This right here from Juan @ Fitbit is likely the key.  I have a Cisco Mobility Express 2800i (mesh-based) wireless system in my house.  When Cisco ran updates a few releases ago, they disabled lower data rates by default on 2.4 GHz so that old devices, such as this scale, won't connect and muck up the network for every other device which is looking for better data rates.  Unfortunately with WiFi, slow data rate devices do affect more modern devices.  I was able to set my wireless into advanced more and enable the 11Mbps data rate on 2.4 GHz and this solved my issue.  The unfortunate part is that 802.11b was already quite outdated when this scale came out.  Should have at least been a 54g device.

Hope this helps.

Oh... mine stopped around 2017.  Yes, sucks and I've spent a couple of hours on it. Not intending to contact helpdesk, that'll take me hours.

Oh Gawd, that sounds too complicated. It should be straight forward wifi/bluetooth connect. My scales cost almost $300.

My scale stopped working called tech support , they said my router settings have changed. Nothing else in the house had an issue, called cable company, they said nothing changed. Just ordered a weight watchers simple scale for $20 , I’ll put the weight in manually, a lot easier than trying to set up Fitbit scale

I recently moved apartments and I am really struggling to connect my Aria 1 to my new Wifi.

I get through to the very last step, it says "Connecting....." for about 5 minutes, and then it says Set Up has failed, and asks me to start again.

It is INFURIATING.

Can any mod help me?

I've been having problems with Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi since making a configuration change in my Asus router. I accidentally put the 2.4 GHz band into "N only" Wireless mode. Changing it back to "Auto" got the Fitbit working again.

This device is so old now - more than five years - that it's officially a Legacy device, so it won't work on Wi-Fi networks that aren't permissive about senior devices.

I haven't changed anything and my scale hasn't connected to my wifi since January 9, 2020.

It would be wise to check the settings on your Wi-Fi router for tolerance of 2.4 GHz legacy devices. An auto-update may have changed them.
