Body Fat % on Aria scales not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi there

when I first got the Aria scales a couple of years ago the BF% worked fine.  But over the last 6 months or so it fails to display a BF% in 90% of weigh-ins.  My weight shows fine but the BF% just shows 'BF ?'.  I have tried cleaning the scale, drying my feet, having my feet damp, changing the batteries etc but nothing works.

I am wondering whether it is a firmware issue.

Any advice appreciated.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SeventyFive! Thank you for your efforts in trying to fix this issue. It does seem like a software issue, so I recommend you contact customer support so they can give you a hand with this. You can also check Fitbit's Warranty Policy if you have any other questions.

Any other questions, let me know.

I just had the same problem.  It showed the batteries low so I changed them, but still get the same BF? message.  Did you find a solution?

Thank you,

Roxanne

@rdsamuels It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is not displaying your body fat percentage, even though you have changed the batteries. Please try cleaning the contacts of your scale with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. After this, re-calibrate your scale by weighing yourself 5 times in a row and see if your body fat is being tracked again.

As an aside note, make sure that your scale is placed on a hard surface and you are standing on it still and barefoot.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

I tried to clean the top of the scale (not sure where the "contacts" are),
but it still shows BF?

@rdsamuels Thank you for getting back and trying the tips recommended above. Regarding your inquiry, the contacts are where you put the batteries. The batteries compartment can be found on back of your scale.

Please let me know if the issue persists even after cleaning the contacts and I'll be happy to assist you accordingly.

I cleaned the battery contacts, got on an off a few times.
Now it won't even light up when I stand on it.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem as many others with my Aria.

The BF readings started being suspiciously high (30%+) - I ignored them as they were clearly wrong

The BF stopped being read a few weeks ago and the scale now just shows "BF?"

I have cleaned the scales

I have replaced the batteries

I have checked my profile, set it to Lean - Body Fat shows "Hidden"

I have re-linked the Aria to the Wifi, removed the batteries for 15 seconds and reconnected.  I have taken my weight about 10 times now.  The scales correctly identify me but still show "BF?"

Can you help please?

They told me that they could not help as my scale was no longer under warranty. 😞

Hello..

I'm having the same problem you did with your Aria Scale. They have told me that it's not under warranty anymore and can't do anything to help me.

I really don't think a scale should only work for 2 years and only have a 1 year warranty.

What did you end up doing?

I did nothing....I did not know what else to do. Disappointed, to say the
least.
