Fitbit Aria 2 firmware update inquiry

I have had an un-opened FitBit Aria 2 scale that has been laying in it's box for almost 5 years.
(i didn't know i had this in it's box for all these years, and just found it today).

After setting it up everything appears to be working fine, but it's on an old Firmware (23.21.6.0)
I have also noticed that this scale has been discontinued.

So my question is, would i be able to receive the latest Firmware update (23.27.2.0) still?
Even though it's been discontinued?

After nearly 3 weeks the scale finally got updated to the latest Firmware (23.27.2.0).
Not sure why it took so long, but it finally updated itself today.

I can confirm that the latest update for this scale is 23.27.2.0 for all countries (and not just for Japan).

Hi @SuperConker ,

My understanding is even though the scale is discontinued, it will still be supported.  I would update the firmware to the latest version I can.

That was my understanding too.

But after a few days of the scale being properly set-up it is still on the old Firmware
(it is also synced properly through wifi and bluetooth).

@SuperConker   This is what I remember from the firmware versions:

  • The out of the box firmware requires you to wait until a weight fully syncs and goes to sleep before you could step on it again to re-weigh yourself.
  • A firmware update lets you step on the scale to re-weigh yourself after the check mark (I think), but you don't have to wait until it goes to sleep.
  • The latest firmware is a fix for the Japanese market.

I don't think I would worry too much if it is working and syncing properly.

Waiting for the scale to go to sleep before you can re-weight yourself is quite annoying.

Is there really no way to receive the latest Firmware?
The scale is still fully supported by the App still so i don't understand why it can't have the latest Firmware.

@SuperConker   You can try contacting Support and see if they have an answer.  It is discontinued, but not on Fitbit's Legacy Device List.  I don't know why you didn't get the firmware updates.

FWIW, the longest part of the sync is the time it takes to sync to your router.  Sometimes it's fast, sometimes not.

It's good to know that you got your firmware updates.  Just to clarify, the latest update went to all users worldwide.  It fixed an issue specific to Japan.
