Hi Guys,

I'm planning to buy Fitbit Aria 2, but at the same time I'm wondering if fitbit going to release an upgrade for it soon? I mean Fitbit Aria 3.
I will be really disappointed if I buy it, and they release a new one in this year.
Theyupgraded Fitbit Aria 1 after two years from the release date. Fitbit Aria 2 been in the market for 2 years this is why I'm worried.

Any recommendation?

Hello @Khalidkusa and welcome to the Help forums.  Fitbit hasn't made announcements.  Sometimes the tech sites make announcements before Fitbit does.  Haven't seen anything like that.  One thing I did see.  The Aria 2 isn't available in the US Fitbit Store.  Not listed as on backorder.  Just not there.  That tells me something.  But that's all I got.

It's odd it's not in the Store. Even if a V3 was coming soon they'd still be selling the V2 as long as possible. I don't the Aria Air is the major release replacing it.

I use:

FitBit Aria
MyFitnessPal and MapMyRide, Garmin VivoSmart

I believe that Fitbit's entire stock of Aria 2 is sold out.  This is consistent with other Fitbit Store behavior.  For example, the Versa 2 is available in exclusive color combinations.  Once a color combination is gone, it tends to stay gone.  If Fitbit is going to restock something, it will be on backorder.

The Aria Air is not a replacement.  It doesn't measure body fat percent.

Wellllllll, several months have passed since your post, and we now have no Aria 2 and no Aria 3. Bummer.

The Fitbit store can be frustrating to find their scales on, they don't have a search box or a scale category in their drop down list. I have to use google to find scale pages on their site. I don't see a page dedicated to the aria 2, so it could be added to a cart. I eventually discovered a page which promoted both scales, and which has a 'shop' button for the aria 2 which bounced you to a useless third party website. Even Amazon hasn't had the Aria 2 in stock for some time, I see it going for $200-$300 on ebay now. I'm just going to buy the vanilla Aria Air off the shelf from Target to hold me over till an eventual Aria 3, although $50 is a lot nowadays for a scale without BMI capability.

Still nothing and no 2?  Come on Fitbit.

@mckillio   I apologize if I am misreading your comment.  You mention the Aria 2.  The Aria 2 is officially discontinued and won't be restocked.  I just looked in the US Fitbit store.  The Aria Air (not a percent body fat scale) is also gone.  There are no rumors in the tech sites about an Aria 3.  To be quite honest, both the Aria and Aria 2 were expensive for the data they provided.  Other brands give more data (water, bone, etc.) at a lower price point.  It's possible that Fitbit just got out of the scale business.

Maybe Fitbit has realized that they are not able to design and produce a scale that is worth buying.

The Aria Air is back again and on sale (December 2021).  Still no rumors on a 3 or Air 2.

There may be better products but I'm locked into the ecosystem.

I've had the Aria 2 and love how it automatically uploads data to FitBit app.  I'll miss that if/when my Aria 2 is done.  I do sometimes wonder on the Body Fat % data and the lean/regular mode is somewhat of a mystery.  I don't know when you should switch.  But I do agree the price tag is high for essentially weight, body fat %, and BMI.  I'll be curious if they're out of the scale game or working on something new.
