Hello everyone!
I know this is a hot topic and I have been through all of the support articles, and related threads, but I'm just not finding a solution. I had my Aria since 2015 and here and there I remember running into connection issues. I recently moved and I brought my scale with me but I never connected it to my new WiFi until recently. I tried different set up method: the set up for mac program, set up through the internet browser, set up through a mobile device, and for each set-up, I cannot get past step 4: where it connects to the WiFi. It just says ERR and the scale goes back to SETUP ACTIVE. I have comcast WiFi 2.4Ghz network. Password and WiFi name are all alphanumerical. The scale is in close range to the router. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I had the same internet type at my old home with comcast, so I'm not sure why it won't connect this time.

The steps here are not working for me. Furthermore, I would not want my information on a guest network, even if I knew what the was. I have the 2.4 and 5 but I have literally no idea where the guest network is or even how to set it up. I have xfinity network that is sort of available but it is public and there is literally no way that I am doing that. I do not know how the post with all of those steps is the best answer you have.
I am responding again to your posts. When I got the Aria about two weeks ago, it set up perfectly without any issues. I have tried with all of my devices to set up the Aria again after I had to have Comcast come after a technical issue with my modem/router that I own and make it activate with Comcast. It had been but something twerked in it and it had to be reset. Regardless, I am not able to connect the scale no matter what I do. I understand the 2.4 and the 5. The scale was set to my previously named 2.4. It's the same modem and router. I have done the battery thing with all my devices. I have done the push the button thing with all the devices. Nothing is working. I spent so much money on Fitbit products in the past two weeks, it's ridiculous. The process should not be this difficult. It should be as easy as it was when I took it out of the **ahem**ed box.

To test whether it is FitBit (Cloudflare) rejecting the IP address assigned to your home, use the FitBit app on your phone (when connected to the same WiFi network) to logout and then log in again. If that fails, but the login works when you switch the smartphone to cellular data then you are pretty much assured that FitBit (Cloudflare) is rejecting the IP address currently associated with your Internet connection.
I believe that the problem is not with the Aria product itself (it rocks) but with FitBit's cloud-based technology to prevent denial of service attacks on their central infrastructure. Doesn't help you if the product doesn't work, though. Power off/on resetting of the ISP cable/DSL/satellite modem may yield a different IP address, but likely not.

I've had my Aria 2 since December 2019. Initial setup was easy with no problems. All 4 of us were set up. Daily weigh ins have been going on without any issues. Over the last few days, weigh ins haven't been showing up and I noticed it was because the Aria was no longer connected. I have been trying for 2 days now to get it to reconnect to the internet. Same internet, same password. We are all connected to it whether phone, laptop or desktop so I know it's working. But the Aria is having issues. I even reset router and extender for **ahem**s & giggles. Nothing. Is there a way to update Aria? Would it need an update? Does it need an update? Scale cost too much to scrap it.

I still have not been able to connect to my WiFi. I called Aria and they told me cause I no longer have my WiFi extender connected. I haven’t had the time to figure if that was the reason. They told me I need to have 2.4 or 5.0. My cable
Company told me that my router has bothered however I only see one network which is not showing either number. It’s crazy. I will hook up my router extender again and see if that makes a difference and will try to report back.

Hi
I bought an aria and I cannot connect it to wifi. I have tried using my andriod phone, an ipad and my laptop, I have tried using guest wifi.
My issue is that when I go via the steps on fitbit.com/scale/setup and connect to aria ab1808 wifi network - it says no internet when I am connected. Then when I go to the step that says I'm connected I get an error message saying cannot reach this page "http://1scale.www.fitbit.com" thats using explorer. When I use chrome and connect to the aria ab1808 wifi network I get "no internet message". I can't even get as far as seeing my router as it won't connect to the aria wifi.
How is it possible that this has been going on this long and fitbit hasn't done something to fix this problem. I'm so disappointed as the fitbit watches are so good.
Has anyone managed to get a fix to connect the aria network?
Thanks
M

After reading a lot of posts, including replies from Fitbit, it appears that to connect an Aria to your network you must have (at least) two things. 1) a 2.4Ghz network (not a 5.0 Ghz network) and your router must operate on the 802.11b protocol. I just replaced my router with a modern (2020) product from Xfinity, the CGM4331COM from Technicolor (a/k/a XB7). In 2.4Ghz mode it allows 802.11g/n/ax but not 802.11b! Why? 802.11b is a dinosaur! and no modern equipment would use it!
Fitbit, please correct me if I am wrong but I believe my Aria just became a BRICK! And, no, I am not going to go back to an old, slow router just to use your product.

I am also having this problem. Due to teleworking we updated our router to a Motorola MG7550 and now I cannot synch my Aria. This is very disappointing. I actually don't know which is more disappointing, the scale not synching or Fitbit not answering anyone's questions.

I bought a new and much better scale & have not had an once of problems. Everyone needs to buy the Eufy Lite scale. Maybe if everyone abandoned Aria, then fitbit would respond. Plus, this scale connects to your fitbit app & watch.

I totally agree!
Thanks for the info about Eufy Scale. I surely will look into it.

That's great, but I don't want to buy a new scale, I HAVE a scale. Aria is a Fitbit product and as such they should respond to peoples requests for technical support.

That is true!!! I really don't want to waste money to purchase another scale neither.

I didn't either and the response I got was replacing my whole router and wifi system in my house. Getting the new and way better scale seemed like the better option to me not to mention a hell if a lot cheaper

Be sure your router works on 802.11b (many new ones don’t) and that you have 2.4Ghz (usually along with 5.0Ghz). If you don’t, the Aria will not work no matter what you do!

I am an IT engineer with 28+ years of experience.
With the recent lockdown and massive move to teleworking, I decided to go for a top-of-the-notch recent mesh (NetGear Orbi Wifi6) which still offers 2.4GhZ 802.11b ...but of course aso many other more recent protocols. The whole idea of such mesh is to have a single SSID for the main router and the satellites and for both frequencies: it is the mesh which select the optimal approach.
Unfortunately, after a few lost hours, I am close to conclude that the FitBit Aria is unable to cope with such WIFI configuration, contradictory to many other old IoT devices around in the house.

My story, had gotten a new router, made sure it had a 2.4Ghz (not bonded with the 5Ghz network). 802.11b was supported (multi protocol). Couldn't get it to connect. Tried factory resetting my aria. Couldn't get it to connect. Tried going back to my old router - no good. Tried many different solves on these forums. Couldn't get it to connect.
I tried 2 different Samsung s7 phones and my Windows 10 computer with both the app store and non app store version of fitbit software. Couldn't get it to connect. No matter what I tried it guided me to the web based setup that wouldn't work. It was just trying connecting for several minutes, find no networks and say it had failed.
After four hours and a tons of profanity - I turned to a hail mary and pulled out my older Samsung Tab S2 running android v7 and it worked correctly and quickly.
I have no idea why that would be. But my issues weren't my wifi - for some reason I had to turn to an older version of Android - or perhaps even wireless networking on my older tablet to get it work - I have no idea (note, I made sure I was using 2.4Ghz on all my tries).
Note my Aria is firmware is v 37 (it is not an Aria 2 scale, first version)
