Hello everyone!
I know this is a hot topic and I have been through all of the support articles, and related threads, but I'm just not finding a solution. I had my Aria since 2015 and here and there I remember running into connection issues. I recently moved and I brought my scale with me but I never connected it to my new WiFi until recently. I tried different set up method: the set up for mac program, set up through the internet browser, set up through a mobile device, and for each set-up, I cannot get past step 4: where it connects to the WiFi. It just says ERR and the scale goes back to SETUP ACTIVE. I have comcast WiFi 2.4Ghz network. Password and WiFi name are all alphanumerical. The scale is in close range to the router. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I had the same internet type at my old home with comcast, so I'm not sure why it won't connect this time.

Buy an used Wireless-B (802.11 2.4 GHz) router off Ebay. Create a wifi network for you Aria scale(s). Configure to use channel 11. Connect the WAN port from the used Wireless B router, to a LAN port on you home router. Put your scale in Setup Mode & connect to the new wifi network, that you just created. Done. All works.
I've fought several Aria scales for the past 3-5 years. They connect, then I move or my cable company applies an update to their router & I spend hours - even days - attempting to reconnect - without success. After the last mysterious disconnect, I waited 6 months are tried again - and it worked on the first try. Overnight, my cable company updated their router & my Aria was in limbo once again. Nothing "visible" had changed on the Cable router. Still set to 802.11 B & channel 11. Still no luck.
So - I decide to downgrade & buy a used (old) 802.11B router from Ebay. Arrived and within 5 minutes I was up and running. It is very nice to hop on the scale every morning & NOT stress about whether it will connect or not. Aria hardware is using an old device driver - for 802.11B. It appears that when modern routers update the device drivers in their routers - sometimes it effects the Aria - sometimes it does not. This makes sense, as the modern router providers are tweaking their devices & drivers - even for the 802.11B standard.
Aria / Fitbit has made the call, to not update the device drivers in the Aria scales. It is possible, that they did not provide a pathway, to update the device driver, once the device is shipped. Regardless, the reason for the crazy works / doesn't work issues with the Aria - is a combination of 1) people not setting their "New" cable routers (modems) to 802.11B for the 2.4 GHz network. 1) Compounded with modern router providers, are making and installing device drivers that alter their implementation of the 802.11 standard just enough, to cause the Arias not to be able to connect - even when the router is configured properly & the scale has been setup properly.
Bottom-line: just buy an old 802.11B router and keep it with you as you move or change cable providers. Your Aria will always work, which is a very nice thing indeed.

I changed Wireless Access Points, yes people do upgrade their network. Apparently the Aria cannot accept any new WAPs. What BS. Definitely recommend to shop for another brand. Never have I had such a difficult time connecting a dumb device to a network. I would have better luck configuring a Cisco Router.

Same issue, moved 4 years ago, finally found my old scale and cannot get it to connect no matter what. What a joke and a waste of fresh batteries.
OK I think I finally got mine to work. My solution: Find the OLDEST piece of hardware with WiFi access that you own. I have an ANCIENT iPad because my Mom loves FaceTime and it's the ONLY thing I use it for. I turned off any cellular data (gotta check and make sure Verizon isn't still charging me for that come to think of it) and connected to my house WiFi just to get to the setup page. Because it was so old, it only went for the old B-band and old security option. THEN I was FINALLY able to set up the scale but it took forever. Now, of course, if I had to actually bill the time out that I spent setting this thing up, I could buy a few new scales, but that's FitBit for ya. So yeah, just keep the jankiest old piece of WiFi connected hardware with a browser that you have (or can find/borrow) and try THAT. Worked like a charm the first time once I finally figured it out. But still, shame on FitBit for not pushing an upgrade.

I’m having the same issue. Aria 2 will not stay connected to wifi. Did anyone have a solution? Will fitbit replace?

If you have a super old device that is only WiFi a & b, try using that - I had luck firing up an ancient iPad that I have. Once I got my Aria (original) connected to my house WiFi that way, it seems to have kept the connection. Good luck.

Juan,
I have similar problem. However, my scale worked fine on new router for months until I changed the batteries. The modem is the CODA-4582 integrates a DOCSIS 3.1 modem with 3x3 2.4GHz 802.11n and 4x4 802.11ac 5GHz Wi-Fi Wave 2. After changing batteries the scale would not sync to Fitbit mobile app. I deleted it from the app and tried to reinstall the Aria. The scale says it is setup for my wi-fi network so I tried to setup new network. Everything goes great until you choose Aria on wi-fi menu. The phone connects to Aria network but says "connect without internet." Password has no special characters. Router is close to scale.
Can you help? Between my wife and myself we have purchased 8 personal device and the scale over the years. Recently I (and many others) have experienced unresolved problems with my new Charge 4 and now this. A new comparable scale from your company is $450. Maybe it's time to switch to Samsung?
A loyal but frustrated customer...

I agree! My husband and I have spent tons of money on Fitbit devices over the years and I don’t know why I continue. Trying to reconnect to WiFi should not be an all day affair. Extremely frustrating!! It’s Monday morning and I do not have time for this…. Help would be appreciated. I am obviously not the only person having the same issue. Fix it or I’m out!!!

You do a great disservice to 3rd graders everywhere. Please apologize. My wonderful Fitbit support person repeatedly hung up on me and tried to techno-babble me into permission. I am very disappointed FitBit, but not sure if I should ever buy another of your products...Feel me?

This is ridiculous! How many ppl need to try to change things to get fitbit products to work. I own a sense, luxe, and the original aria. I am so tired of trying to get help for the scales connectivity issues. My provider claims I am dual band and it connects automatically to 2.4 bandwidth. Yet here we are reading countless entries on how they cannot connect despite changing routers and calling providers. Can anyone at your company help so that our money is not wasted on your products. I will definitely be writing a review so ppl become aware before adding fitbit to their homes.
