Fix for original Aria not connecting to wifi

So you just upgraded to a better wifi and now your Aria will not connect. Eh?  Well it worked with the old modem, right?  You don't want to go back to just your old modem, so consider this compromise:  Reconnect your old modem WAN port with ethernet cable to your new modem spare ethernet port .  Connect just your new modem to your internet service provider.  Thus your old modem would get internet service from your new modem via one of the wired ports and connect via its old spec 2.4 G to your Aria.  It worked before right?

If you don't still have your old modem, you can pick one up at a second hand store for just a few bucks. Get an old one with just 2.4 G service.  Worked for me, as I had to turn in my old modem to my internet service provider so I couldn't use it after the upgrade.

PS

You should also use a WiFi analyzer to see if your WiFi channel is being blocked.  The original Aria only used the 2.4 G band which is full of old devices like wireless cameras for example in addition to a lot of other WiFi modems.  Plus there really are only three channels as seen on the analyzer despite the indicated 11 or so.  But if your Aria works with your old modem, this is not the problem, unless one of your neighbours is trying something he picked up at a swap meet..  If you are being blocked as I described above, perhaps you can move your modem and Aria closer together?

Found another issue to watch for.  Your neighbourhood may have too many 2.4G wifi users which could block your Aria from reaching your router.  Perhaps check with a wifi scanner.  Your cell phone can do this with a suitable app.
