Hi. I recently switched ISP and was provided with a new WIFI 6 router. Incredible speeds to modern devices but failed to talk to my old Aria scale. When I put the scale into setup mode, even just connecting my laptop with a modern wifi card in it would crash the scale out of setup mode - blank screen. There are numerous ways to try to tackle this but the most convenient, i.e. you have the kit you need, means knowledge of how to setup your router and it having certain capabilities you need. One thing, whatever you do to your new router you won't want to compromise its performance with the majority of devices in your home in order for it to sync to your ancient Aria scale.

I'll post my specific solution which may help others in two ways. 1. If they have the same kit or 2. It might lead to other thoughts about what the problem might be.

I have some TP-Link extenders (WPA-4220). These plugin to power sockets to transmit wi-fi around large houses. One was spare so I tried to connect the scale to that. No joy. But, after switching from WPA/WPA-2 Personal to WEP security encryption it hooked up right away. Now, some people won't like this. WEP is (very) old and fairly unskilled people who read about hacking could obtain and use software that could get your wi-fi password and enable them to logon to the network. In my circumstances this isn't an issue, nobody will get a connection where my device is so it's not a risk. For most people, the chances of having an in-range hacker interested in their network are remote. Running WEP is not ideal and when I can summon up some enthusiasm for mucking around more I might, but for now this is good enough for me.

It is possible to have multiple routers connected to the same home network, so if you have the old one that the new one replaced, if you know what you're doing, you can connect that and your Aria will carry on as before. If that would help I could provide some links to guidance.
