How to setup new wifi on Aira 2

I doubt anyone knows, as the manual is unhelpful and support deflects to someone maybe someday getting back to me, but I can't get my Aria 2 to update to the new wifi. I get to the 'setup' screen on the device and then I can't find it by wifi, bluetooth, or whatever it is I'm supposed to do. 

This is why people end up leaving this ecosystem -- because the support is pretty bad.

In my case, the solution was two steps:
1) delete and reinstall the iphone app.
2) modern wifi routers are on a couple of different frequencies. I had to reset the device a couple of times to find the lower band. Then I was able to do it from my phone. 

So unimpressed with support options to help with what should have been simple and was.
