So after something of a monumental effort I finally managed to setup the scales again. To be seen if things improve. I suspect somehow its myfitnesspal reporting back updates.

I let the batteries complete run down so much that the scale "forgot" the account and I had to reregister it. I weighed myself five times to establish my dominance (or whatever) and that all worked fine. However, less than 24 hours later, about a dozen bogus weights have shown up.
I wonder if my weights are showing up bogusly on someone else's account...

@Kometes Thank you for joining us in this thread! I'm sorry to hear that your Dashboard is also showing random weigh ins. Please try deleting those ghost readings by clicking next to each reading. After this, restart your Aria again by taking out the batteries and put them back in. After this, monitor your Dashboard and see if random weigh ins stop showing.
As an aside note, I would like to know if those readings appear on the Fitbit app and web-based Dashboard also.
Keep me posted!

Well, a week after having removed all manual weights from my timeline (visible in both online dashboard and iOS app), deleted my aria scales and reinstalled them as a different name the manual weights are back. I’m beginning to suspect they’re duplicates sent back from MyFitnessPal as I see similar behaviour with exercise logs. I can perform an exercise and see the Fitbit tracked results duplicated as a myfitnesspal named event.

@tinbucket, I removed all permissions for other services to access my fitbit data and the ghost weights still show up.
@JuanJoFitbit, The weights show up as GUEST so they don't show up as my weights, however, they do show up on both the website and app when I look at the scale data itself. Also, if the ghost weights are near my weight (they are 20lb off now) they do show up as my weights. I'm not taking the batteries out again, as you can see from my message that I just had to reconfigure it completely, which involves taking out the batteries. This has been going on for years now, through many resets and battery removals.

MyFitnessPal was a theory. I guess an unfounded one judging by your post.

Hi, yup they are still as persistent as ever; indeed I've just been awarded my 60kg weight loss badge on the basis of a fictitious weight entry.
i went from 100kg to 46 overnight. both IOS and dashboard. Deleted from IOS it is still visible on the dashboard version however.

If anything the past couple of weeks it’s been getting worse. Originally the entries were fairly close to my actual weight, now it seems to be plucking ridiculous figures from somewhere. Last legitimate weight on scales: 100.6kg

Hi,
I’ve already tried the following:
- deleted iPhone app and reinstalled it.
- reset aria and reinstalled to my network.
- sure you can delete entries manual or otherwise but not the point. I’ve now a series of trophies based on fictitious weights.
- tried renaming my router and reinstalling aria as a different device
- only thing I’ve not tried for obv reasons is changing my user ID.
- installing aria on a different user and being added makes no difference either.
This and the dodgy heart rates shown on ionic I’m beginning to lose faith.
Thanks
